Well it looks like the least expensive radio option is the set on the rear seat table. My addition being pretty good since the 4th grade, shows a bill of $900. minimum, and that's with parts that carry no guarantee. Then I got to take the HAM licensing exam. I better go with a decent CB and a...
Thanks for all the input so far. My son has an alarm in his camaro that sports switches on the hood and doors and will even go off if it senses someone touching it. There is a very bright led on the dash that seems to be a strong deterrent for those with weaker conviction.
I know people will...
deliverator... thanks for posting the pic. I'll head over to the boneyard in the am. We are on the same page. I have the same kack in my C20 and it barely gets the 16's off the ground. Which sucks because it came in 1973 with 16 1/2" rims. I just want the vehicle to look stock.
What is the correct jack for the m1009 and where can I find one. Mine came without anything. I have a hi-lift; but I figure since I have stock height, the original type might come in handy.
Rob, I'll start looking at the bushings. Is the OEM rubber the way to go, or are there better poly bushings that give better performance?
Wallew, I have not replaced the tires. They were all the Silent Armour ones when I got it. The tread left is substantial, so I'll wait on replacing them...
The military type, I mean. I was thinking about installing a CB. Then I got the notion that a working radio with the ability to call and receive might look cool and make use of the antenna I have.
Is it legal to install a working two-way?
After reading about recent cucv thefts- one across town from me , I was thinking I'd better switch out the ignition lock cylinder. Is there any other good security I should consider? If I have to do the doors and endgate I can do that later, I just don't wanna come back to my truck and...
Got the Bilsteins for the M1009. The ride is nicer. The shocks I pulled were lifeless and did not even expand after compressing by hand :???:.
The ride seems a little jouncy from side-to-side. I was thinking about what the next move, if any, should be.
I don't really think I want to lift it...
My selectors are yellow and the indicator is red. I'll be painting the rims black in the spring and these selectors will get a sanding and a fresh red/yellow paint as well.
Warthog, thanks for the diagram and instruction. The blue wire in the diagram you provide... is there an actual blue wire coming off the cluster group that connects to the ground bus? The bus is the one against the cab on the driver side over the brake right? My bus had no wires attached to it...
SSMOORMAN@VERIZON.NET, Yes, I too would like to know which ground you are referring to. I tore my cluster apart, polished all the copper "leads" and replaced with fresh bulbs. The headlight switch was also changed and still have a dim-watted cluster aua.
67_C-30, Thanks for your advice. That is what I want to hear. I'll pull a few and see the overall condition, as I have no idea when they were last changed. I think I'll just go ahead and put in a whole fresh set and start from there. If you think they should be good for three to four years, I'll...
markg, Are you talking about the "shelf-it"? I was looking at that. They still make them for our blazers/trucks. As I sat in my Blazer today though, I envisioned the shelf, with the new location for the visors. I took into account how much of the top view I would be losing. It does seem to chop...
Been driving my M1009 since late summer. Starts right up gets good mileage. Been adding some of the additives mentioned here to see what works best for me.
I hate to get stuck with GPs going bad on the road, so I figured I would see about changing them with new AC Delcos. I hear that GPs do...
Mine. and others I have seen, seem to be missing the snorkel from the air cleaner. You can simply see into the air cleaner housing at the filter. Was a troublesome snorkel phased out?
OK so I will give the 60G by AC Delco a go. Since the "new" ones seem to be made by BERU. I hope I dont end up with new old Stock. Anyone know if they look different from the ones made by Beru?
