I need 6 - My local tire store swears they can get them - but without a part number I'm beginning to have my doubts. I know where I can get the 24" thicker ones, so my other option is to buy those and do the razorblade and superglue trick.... I believe they are something like .375" thickness...
The wheels are probably from a 900 series or maybe a hemtt. They are the "combat wheels" everyone is always talking about. The truck I have originally had split rims like most. Either way, the info I have heard is that the military only uses three different styles of o-rings. thin, thick...
Does anyone know the part number or a source for the thick round o-ring for the two piece combat wheels? I understand there are three different styles - thin round, thick round, and triangular shaped.
My local Les Schwab Tire store can get the two round styles, but can't seem to find the p/n...
Here's how I made mine - it's an LED red/white switchable marine dome light I painted and made a bracket for out of a scrap of aluminum I had kicking around. I wish the aluminum was a bit thicker gauge, but it works well and is solid nonetheless.
I wired it to a rubber covered toggle on the...
I just bought a set of Recaro orthopedic seats for my XM813 truck, and I am thinking of buying a Bostrom style airseat base for the driver's side and move my spring seat base to the passenger side.
The other thought I had was in looking at the stock spring base, it seems like it would be...
So I'm dying to find out how you did selling your truck - I saw you pulled your Ebay auction.... Does that mean you got a local offer, or you had "seller's remorse"?
It wass a good looking truck, I was watching it as a barometer for how I might do when I sell mine and upgrade to the HEMTT...
RE: Can I run Michelin XL
I thought so, but I saw a military TM that mentioned that the XL required a tube..... I wish I could remember which TM it was. I could be wrong. It certainly makes sense that it would be okay to run tubeless.... Either it holds air or it doesn't.
I think someone told me that the XL's were a tube-type tire. Does this mean that I HAVE to run them with tubes when used on a tubeless type wheel? I see that the military is using them on beadlock style combat wheels, yet the wheels are stamped with a warning not to run tubes in them...
yeah, I know it's not particularly "tactical" but it think the semi-gloss looks really sharp next to the dull tires. I've painted deuce rims flat black before, and they just look too dull..... I doubt I will be sneaking up on any enemy combatants with this truck anyhow, so it shouldn't cause...
I realize that it would be real easy to just bolt up my new combat wheels backwards to get the singles on, but these rims look so good sandblasted and powdercoated I can't help but wonder if flipping the hubs would allow me to run the wheels beadlock bolts out like the front.
Can anyone tell...
RE: What
One more question - whereis the best placeto get replacement o-rings and valve stems for these wheels? They use a really funny loking two-way valve stem that has a big brass fitting that is sealed with a nut onto the wheel, and then two valve stems that come off either direction. The...
RE: What
Well, my wheels are 2 piece, with the outer ring sliding down over the rim like a sleeve. The o-ring sits in a groove, but it's a sideways groove (if that makes sense) and the outer piece sort of rolls over it when you are bolting the wheel together. I just figured that the o-ring...
RE: What
You don't use any lube on the o-ring to ease the outer rim edge over it? It seems like the o-ring would seal better with some silicone grease on it. Does anyone know what manual I can refer to for the Gov't 's mounting instructions?
The wheels are the set I bought on Ebay and had...
I wanted to post this in the Deuce section because I figured that is where the most folks would see it, and I think a lot of people want to use these wheels recentered on the M35. I am planning on putting them on my 5 ton, however.
I just got 4 of my 10"x20" combat wheels back from...
Do you honestly think it would really make any difference if something were to be run through the gap there? It seems to me anything that could get up there would just roll around until it rolled off the edge or was spat out. You have one surface pulling in, one pushing out. I doubt anything...
Does anyone have any opinions or pictures of m813's on super singles with 14-20 and 16-20? I can't really decide which way I want to go. I am gonna be putting them on the 10x20 combat wheels.
Are there any other mods needed besides just flipping the rear hubs?
Any negatives to running the...
I'm planning on 16-20 michelin xml's. I think they should fit okay. I believe the tires on there now are 11-20 ndt's.
Guess I'll put them on craigslist and see what happens. I just don't want to end up with 10 tires kicking around for too long...
I just bought a 70 xm813 and I am already getting geared up to do what I should have done on my last m35a2... SUPER SINGLES!
Are the stock NDT wheels and tires of much value? I am not certain if they are really worth trying to sell or not.
