Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20's - just finished!

I took it out for it's first run on the new rubber today. Feeling kinda nervous about it, so I dropped by my local Les Schwab tire center and had them double check the wheel torque and air pressure (450 ft/lbs, 90 psi). All okay, so I headed out on the highway. The ride is a little bumpy...

Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20's - just finished!

Re: RE: Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20 Hah! This midget is 5'11" tall! (six feet if I'm talkin' to the ladies...:) ) The passenger seat is just my old driver's seat. I think it is considered a highback. It's not near enough of a highback, though. When I first bought the truck I...

Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20's - just finished!

RE: Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20 I've got a second recaro for the passenger side, too - but I've been so busy with the tires I haven't had a chance to mount it. The pass. side spring base used to be on the driver's side. Right now I have no bounce in the driver's seat because I removed...

Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20's - just finished!

Well, this project has been a royal pain, but it is done - 3 trips to Montana, close to $3000 and a totalled pickup truck later.... I am trading my old wheels and tires for a bed mounted crane that I'll mount in the right front corner of the cargo bed. It should be really handy for...

    Deuce,5ton,10 ton

I got this from timberwolf's Ebay ad for his 5 ton. Hope he doesn't mind. The big one is an M813A1 5-ton, the smaller is an M35A2 Deuce.

    Oshkosh Combat Rims

RE: Tires There is a guy on Ebay who sells the combat style like I bought, but they are $225 each..... I paid $900 for my first 4, and $100 each for the last 3. Of course if you factor in the additional $560 for sandblasting and powdercoating, and $100 for custom o-rings and flange bolts to...

    Oshkosh Combat Rims

RE: Tires Can someone post a pic of these? If they are the same rims on the Oshkosh Equipment website, they seem to be fitting fine, but I am no expert. I'd trust whatever M1075 has to say on the matter.

Anyone know a cheaper place to buy lugnuts?

RE: Re: Anyone know a cheaper place to buy lugnuts? I think I will keep 2 studs on each wheel for steps. That's a good idea. I found them from a local truck supply house for $1.13 each. That's much better. Napa needs to get with the program...

Anyone know a cheaper place to buy lugnuts?

Sorry, I should have specified - I am going to singles in the rears, so I need 20 right hand, 20 left hand, just like on the front axle. Getting rid of the buddnuts.

Anyone know a cheaper place to buy lugnuts?

I sure would like to pay something less then the $2.30 each my local Napa wants for 20 right and 20 left lugnuts. Anyone know any place cheaper?

    Oshkosh Combat Rims

I went with the bolt-together combat rims, but I'd say yes. Here's a pic of my project, even though I've only put one on in the picture - I can only work on it a bit every day and it's been raining cats and dogs here lately.

Flipping hubs on M813 - are in/out wheel bearings the same?

RE: Flipping hubs on M813 - are in/out wheel bearings the sa I'm running 16-20's, and I want to run the wheels bolts out like the front. Flipping them puts them just right.

Flipping hubs on M813 - are in/out wheel bearings the same?

I've got the drum/hub off, and flipped around and bolted back together. My question is do I just replace the seal on the opposite side of the hub? What about the wheel bearings? They look the same. Do I just keep the bearings in the same positions as before with the same races, or do I try...

    5 ton insurance

Yup, State Farm for me too. I'm in Washington State, and I pay $150 for full coverage per year. Agreed upon max value of $9000. It's through their "collector vehicle" insurance program, not the regular insurance plan.

    Impulse Deuce

Whats really funny is that I bought the Deuce that I sold to John Cappa in that article from a guy in San Francisco and drove it home to Washington! John and his buddy Christian were really cool guys, but I wish they had shot me an email to let me know I was going to be in a Jeep magazine - if...

I need a part number for combat wheel o-rings (thick)

Thanks alot. I'll order them from them. That really helps. By the way - about 30 minutes after I made my last post on hwy 15 S. leaving Great Falls, Montana my girlfriend and I were riding in my 2003 f350 crewcab when we were cut off on an icy downhill grade and rolled the truck 3 times into...
