I just installed the PTO for my winch on my M813 yesterday, and refilled the tranny with fresh 80-90 gear oil (walmart brand SuperTech ) (11 quarts, until it ran out the filler plug) and now it's shifting funny and making more noise then it used to.
It isn't as willing to go into 3rd or 4th...
The wheels are also available seperately on Ebay for $220 each. I'd try some of the other sources first, though (Antelope Valley Truck Parts, Saturn, Barstow Truck Parts, Boyce Equipment, Memphis, Etc) You may get them a bit cheaper.
The best thing that happened to me was I met a guy in my...

Good luck - I know they are quite hard to find.
I thought I lost one when I was powdercoating my rims, so I went through the the catalog at my local tire store. We where able to make up a valve stem that worked from some of the OTR wheel parts. I think the wheel hole is 13/16" diameter...
Sure thing - just let me know. I ordered up some new o-rings from o-rings inc. and they ended up at around $8 each. Myself and M1075 are the only two people that have ever ordered that type of o-ring from them. If you want the P/N I can get it for you.
By the way - if you use o-rings...
Here's a couple new pics - with the seats both installed and the intercom hooked up. I also put the crane in finally and put the cover back on.
Getting ready for the bed lift and the winch.
I'm also thinking of building a great big steel cow-catcher front bumper guard that I can bolt onto...
No tubes. In fact if you need some I have 5 of them and 2-3 flaps. I used the o-rings on the wheels, and have not had any leaks at all. My wheels were sandblasted and powdercoated, though, so that made sealing them up real easy. It might be a bit harder with a rusted wheel.
I wouldn't...
No tire rub either way and the truck still has an excellent turning radius. I really don't see the big deal with running these tires. I have experienced only positives and none of the negatives everyone was warning me about. I have yet to be able to make the rears rub on the bottom of the...
I could use a bit more thigh clearance in my M813 with the new seats. Is there any steering wheel that would fit that is a bit smaller in diameter?
With the power steering, I really don't need the huge bus-driver wheel.... It helped on my Deuce, it's in the way in the 5-ton...
First one - It'll get high enough to drag my spare up and down from the bed. That's all I really needed. It looks okay. I haven't even used it yet, but I'll let you know how it turns out.
Well, it's not very "extreme" at all, but it does a good job of showing that 16-20's DO provide enough clearance for average offroad use. Case closed.
I'll put some pics of the bed crane up tomorrow, but it's basically the Harbor Freight model braced to the bedside. I'll paint it ASAP...
Here's the second video -

I am also curious about the crane. I am having it put together by the guy that I bought the truck from, I am trading him all the original tires/wheels back for it.
We are putting it on tomorrow, so I'll post some pics...
Success! I have one video on YouTube, and the other will be up in a few minutes.
This is the best I could do by my house to twist up the rear suspension - The reason I did this was also so I could load all the old tires up in the bed by rolling them into the back on a plank from the street...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20
sure wish I could show you guys my videos... I tried once again today to upload them.... Anyone know how to reduce the size of an mpeg? If I get it under 10mb I can email it out.
Like I said before - I drove the truck down a 45...
RE: Re: RE: Pics of my singled 5-ton with 16-20
That's no concern to me - what I was worried about was the vertical clearance of the the axle into the cargo bed - which proved to be no issue really at all. If I could figure out how to post this video I would show you....
It's funny you should say that, I took a video of it today that really shows the rear clearance well, but it's pretty big (20 meg and 31 meg). How do I post these?
I tried adding the 20 meg video to the video gallery, but I got this error message - "Missing argument 'tid' in...
