I have the same tires on my '86 M1009. Got them mounted, balanced, taxes and fees for $623.00 out the door for the four.
Haven't put but a couple of hundred feet on them, so can't comment on them...
... but the price was the cheapest I could find in town (TN) for stock sized A/T M1009...
Yep and in that second picture you need more work on shining up that commutator. Read: bright and shiny copper...
EDIT: If that second pic is your MEP...???
I'm not a genset expert, but that commutator in the third photo looked corroded over. Did you clean it to a shiny finish before reassembling?
Also, search "flashing a generator"...
Our resident gensets experts will probably reply with better info.
My neighbors like me and my CUCVs, but I live in the country on 5 acres and they know I'm in the military, so that helps...
... also helps my windows are tinted pretty dark and I do get a lot of waves and thumbs up...
... and the office guys saw my petite wife step out of the M1009 one time...
Well, GL works at record speed to invoice us buyers. Won my MEP 016D yesterday and by noon today had an email telling me my invoice was paid in full...
I recovered the genset and took it to my generator buddy. He jumped it off with a two-wheel jumper cart deal and it fired up. Glad to...
Like the title said, I'm looking for an OEM looking black, molded vinyl floor covering similar to what came from GM. This is for a 1985 M1008 pickup I bought, but haven't taken possession of yet.
I did a search (no joy) and other than LMC Truck, does anyone have a lead on where to buy one...
Great story board and I liked how you broke it into individual posts...
Good luck on the VR journey as I have looked high and low for reasonably priced surplus USGI VRs and they don't seem to be available no matter the price - especially the "matched set" (VR and gauge)...
I'll be waiting...
Yeah, I bought GM dealership (AC Delco) rear wheel cylinders for my M1009 and sure enough, boxes were AC Delco, but the parts inside made in china... :x
Pi$$ed me off, but they were cheaper than the local parts stores and have a warranty...
Same here at Shelby - installation and training brigades were told to turn in all CUCVs and replaced by HMMWVs...
Most CUCVs here were the Blazers (for OC use) and a small number of pickups and contact trucks (which are still being used - not all of them turned in).
Clarification offered...
My speed issue is due to not having access to DSL (rural location) and not willing to sign a two year contract for satelite internet, so the Verizon internet service via a Samsung Galaxy tablet was the only option for me...
The top of SS always loads with the two ads...
Webmaster,
Why is this website so slow to load and look at threads within?
Many times, it just stops loading a page and then I have to click the red "X" to stop it and then click "refresh"...
I'm on a fast laptop, plenty of memory, WIN 7 OS, IE 7 (64 bit) and a Samsung tablet using Verizon...
... by me...
I wondered if a passenger seat (bottom) would work on the driver's side?
It does, but you have to probe for the mounting nuts on the frame, punch a hole in the vinyl and bolt in the seat back.
Hope this helps someone.
Wow...
David,
Super nice - especially the interior...!!!
Can you share where you got the seat cover and did you paint the door panels and dash? If so, paint info please... :-D
I'm looking to buy a M1008 and plan to do my interior (stock) like you did.
Thanks,
Mike
You have to climb inside, climb over the rear seat and go to the back with the phillips screwdriver and remove the access panel (with the door/tailgate in the closed, upright position).
The part I'm not sure of is if you can access those lower screws or are they covered by the floor of the...
I'm not where I can look at my tailgate, but if you can access the lower phillips screws that secure the inner tailgate access cover sheet metal (inside of the tailgate), that will allow you to gain access to the glass mounts, regulator and crank handle mounting nuts.
Chances are is your...
camp9,
Did you verify the window crank lock is "unlocked" (unlocked with the ignition key)? That will make the handle spin in circles without being engaged.
