The axles you have came out of an oshkosh M1500 From all my research I've done over the years that is the only thing they used them in as a set. there were some civilian uses but they only used the rear axles. The wider axles I'm talking about are out of the 800 series bridge trucks.
I've bought a few sets of the 800 series bridge truck axles and none ever had a locker. and incase no one knows those have a 3" wheel spacer on the front but the rear axles are wider and have spacers. the housing itself is 6" wider than a regular 5ton axle then they put a 1.5" on the hub too so...
the front is almost a total a bolt in deal. you just use the ctis spindles on the airlocker housing and you will need to drill a hole in the drive flange for the ctis tube to stick through. and you pull the differential out of it and you need to put the differential carrier halve and spider and...
The 7ton airlockers are slick but yes not real common. I've had several sets and know of a few sets available but there are a few small hurdles to get over to use them. if you want to keep the ctis on an A2 and use the airlocker axles the front it's all simple bolt in work but the rears are a...
It would be hard to make the front an oil setup because the oil would run back the spindle and into the knuckle. I don't see why you couldn't make the old style 800 and 900 rears oil bearings if you can find the right seal. for guys that have eliminated the ctis you could pull the ctis seals out...
Of the 2 M931A2 trucks we bought with the 8.3 cummins one starts almost instantly in cold weather but the other one has to crank a while. The one that starts right up has fair blow by and the hard starter has none. Both just had the same spring and screw turning mods which made both run...
If you don't add the 4k spring in the kit it still cuts the fuel out earlier and 3k. it'll free rev that high but doesn't mean it's getting full fuel at that rpm.
