M35A3 - Won't Start Need for Memorial Day Parade

There is a new updated version that puts another support in there to the block. I put one on for another member when I picked up their A3 last year. I think he got it from Ericks if I'm not mistaken. But as I recall it wasn't cheap some where around $125.

Is this DOT 3 or DOT 5?

DOT 5 will turn amber after a while. It confuses many people who think it should always be purple but that doesn't last very long at all.

    Proud New Owner....now what???

welcome to it and I think you have an AM General not an AMC, but I suppose I could be wrong.

Did this fall off my deuce?

Looks like a parking brake or throttle return size spring.

M35A3 - Won't Start Need for Memorial Day Parade

Correct me if I'm wrong but, don't the generators require an exciter wire and by removing the ground you would have broken that circuit? I'm not well enough versed in the A3 electrical system to say for sure.

    Fuel pressure issue

Interesting update. I replaced the o ring and put everything back together. I have had a few of these apart and back together now and never had such an issue puting the shaft back in as I did this time. Finally got it all together and started the truck. YIKES I have a run away and I can't...

    Fuel pressure issue

I talked to Gimp and picked his brain for a while. He suggested that maybe it could be a governor issue. So I started looking at things a little closer today and read through the IP TM so I could learn more about the governor. I also did some searching on here and decided to remove my fuel...

M35A3 - Won't Start Need for Memorial Day Parade

It sounds like you may have a short within one of the batteries. Similar thing happened to a friends KW and that's what the found was the case. Could be a loose plate inside the battery causing it. So when you move the batt around to take it out and to the shop the plate moves and all is...

    Giving Back

Last year a woman my wife knows from church learned I have the deuce and asked me if I could bring the truck to her work for a display. She works for a retirement home and they were putting on something for the Vets there, they have a lot of them, and wanted to have a static display for them...

    Deuce flasher box troubles.

I just fixed the same problem on a friends deuce. It was two bad wires up by the flasher lever. turns out they were touching. Check the wires for any breaks or freys.

    Fuel pressure issue

Took the deuce for a ride today down to the Harley Museum. She made it there and back, so that's the important thing. I kept an eye on my new fuel pressure gauge and at idle it's about 39psi and while cruising at 30 to 40 mph it's at about 65psi. When I kick up the idle of the truck to 1500...

Fuel line, convert copper to hydraulic

At the moment I don't have the exact size and I don't want to estimate and be off by a few inches and have you short.

Fuel line, convert copper to hydraulic

I replaced mine with 3/8 hose and JIC fittings. Yor can remove the short rubber line that jumps between the copper and the IP with this as well. If you want PM me and I can send you a new hose all premade and ready to go.

    Fuel pressure issue

Yes gimp it's the same HH. I was really hoping to get a lot more miles out of it to prove a point. But I guess considering I made it live one more year I should be happy. I no longer have that bypass valve on my secondary filter set up. I will add a pic of my new set up.

    Fuel pressure issue

All very good ideas. I have replaced all filters when trying to resolve the issue and it still keept doing the same. The best way to describe it would be as though the truck has a miss. Not all the time. Driving down the road just fine and it feels like you just took your foot off the...

    deuce engine swap

What flywheel is needed when swapping in a 6bt but still using the deuce tranny? There are so many out there to choose from. I'm just putting together that list of parts for if/when mine ever dies.

    Fuel pressure issue

Starting late last year my deuce has been acting up when when I'm driving. It will run 55+ all day long but anything slower it acts like it's out of fuel. At Iola we found a crushed copper line under the front cross member and thought that may be part of my problem. I finally got around to...

    So you have a leak...

Why do you believe it to be the front main? Is there any chance it could be the tach cable?
  19. kennys@wi.rr.com

    So you have a leak...

What was the part number of those o rings Todd?

    So you have a leak...

I have thought about doing that. Just never tried it yet.
