It is actually amazing what the pinion mounted brake does on a monster truck. At least they have 2.
I'm trying to figure this out. When the truck is rolling down a hill and the torque is from the tires on the road, it is then coming thru the differential to the driveshaft. Don't you have...
What size tires are on that 4 wheeled one? They look great. How much did they add? Looks like about 4" added to a m135 wheel??? If I were doing to modify a truck, that is what i would lean toward. Thanks for the pic!
Disk brakes would be an improvement as long as you upgrade to a modern 2 chamber master cylinder. It would take some engineering. The original brakes do lock up when they are functioning as they should. The problem is that ANY leak will cause a loss/reduction of your braking power. I installed...
Nice running truck. Mine sound the exact same when I start them. I just assumed it was 60 year old starters... On to the timing light!
How the heck am I going to get the inductive pickup to work with those plug wires????
Thanks for the video.
Well, hello fellow Wisconsonite! I'm only 3 hours away near La Crosse. Cannot wait to see the Pics. I won't ride you too hard about not posing pics...Yet.
The bare chassis and cab can easily go be gooseneck on a pickup. It will weigh about 10k without the bed. I just hauled one. The other, well you may be better off to have someone local lift the tank off if you don't want to keep it on and haul it seperate. Maybe you know someone who can haul it...
Well, buy them. Good luck finding transmission parts. I'm told they have a lot of parts that are different from the caddies, but I don't really know for sure.
As far as value, do they have titles? No title = $175/ton. It is hard to put a value on them. 30 years ago, people used them on farms...
Judging by the little rectangular pan mounted in pucture 8, I'm gonna say ex-fire truck? That was a mount for a 6 volt flashlight in the early 70s. The ears were where the hold down spring was anchored.
Thanks for the pics!
