here are a couple of pictures of my new toy. Not sure what I will use it for, but it is in decent shape. It is interesting in that it has an M116A3 frame and M101A2 body tub. It towed great and fits the Dodge very well.
He has a 923A1 and I have the 923. Think my truck has 4,000 mi. since rebuild. So I have new tires, Goodyears g177 and a new engine too. We took them to the Elma Vets parade last week.
Not me, but the 1st Sgt. Brad helped us change the tires. I am glad we did it there. It is amazing the amount of stuff he knows about these trucks. Would be fun to go south and haul a load or two of stuff back for him.
SR, saw your new toy out at Brad's today. Neat looking rig. Will look forward to the crew cab.. Went out with the 1st Sgt. to change a couple of tires over.
Helped a friend change a couple tires on his M923A1 out at Brad's. He had a couple of Michelin's on it and needed Goodyears to match the others. Also adjusted his right mirror braces that were improperly installed. The bracket tilted back towards the back of the truck, so much that the mirror...
We had two vehicles for this one an M923 and M923A1. sorry for the short notice. Someone called in and I missed it, sorry for the miscommunication. The event went well and we brought up the rear of the parade. I got to meet one of the last USS Arizona survivors and 2 - WW2 Navy nurses. One of...
We had 3 vehicles turn out and go in our unit. Storm's M37, Mike E. M151, and Kirk S. M38A1. A couple others had to bow out for work and maintenance issues. Thanks for those that were able to be there this time. The weather turned out great. some said it was a little cool, but I was in WW1 gear...
Manders, that is tough luck. We missed you for big brother back up. We ended the day with an M37, M151, and M38A1. While the numbers weren't big, the rigs looked great. The weather was cooperative and it was an overall nice day. I maybe had devine intervention as i was walking with the WW1...
If anyone would like to attend this event, they have a memorial service at 1100 and a parade at 1300. The 1st Sgt and I will be meeting up at exit 88 off I-5 at 0830 for breakfast at the Little Red Barn restaurant and then heading over to participate. Meet us at the restaurant or over in Elma...
Anyone interested in participating in the Lighted Tractor parade this year? They do want Military Vehicles participating. You do need to light your vehicle up with Christmas lights. If you want to attend, I will take care of the registration for our unit. last year we had 3 vehicles from the...
T minus 11 hours and counting. don't worry if you didn't check in, just show up. Looks like we will be getting a break in the weather. See you in the morning. Peter
Doubtful if you are off or doubtful about the ride? I am sure we could get you a ride. Depending on weather, I might let you use my WW2 jeep. I am walking with the WW1 folks, so wasn't going to take a rig. But if weather is inclement, I may not be able to get it ready on Friday. What kind...
The parade starts at 1100 and since we are #162, we might not get rolling till 1130 - 1140. Once we get going it doesn't take long. I am thinking if we get an earlier roll time, we should be done in the 1200 to 1230 range. it seems that we are usually eating lunch by about 1230 to 1300. You...
Hello Team,
I just got a note that we will be #162 on "I" street. What this means is that we will be towards the back of the small side street. Please do not drive up to the front till the other units get in place. This is a small side street with little manuever room. I know the WW1 folks...
