Mating transmission to engine - rant

I had the opposite happen one time. I stabbed the tranny so quick and easy. I just aimed, pushed and boom! It went all the way home with zero resistance. I was so blustered. That never happens. All I could think of as to why it went so well was that I forgot to install the disc and or pilot...

    letssleds M-135 Project

Wow, that's gonna be a awesome space in that stretch cab! I've never scratch built a frame but..... Why would you not first fit the drive train and at least the front suspension before hacking the body? That way your cab could be trimmed and fitted as necessary. It would be a drag to fit the...

Question re: "Aux Power Circuit Relay" and trailer plug pin "k"

Thanks guys. I'll be near my vehicles in a few weeks. In the meantime I'll order some wire and connectors to create those two circuits. Another question: is there a sexy way to create a dual connection at the brake light switch? I'd like to avoid cutting or splicing the existing brake signal...

    F350 6x6 conversion?

I had the same thought when the OP mentioned the Ford frame was wider. The next consideration is the height of the big ole inline six. Rick

    Tow Bar Stowage Ideas

If those shackles on the ends of the heavy are the same pin size as the medium, (to me they appear to be), I'd say just go with the medium. Rick

Well done! That is a awesome looking combo! I wonder if anyone has set an AC unit on that second shelf on the trailer and plumbed it forward to the cab? Rick

    Tow Bar Stowage Ideas

The last two clamp samples are what I was mentioning. They look to be easily made of plate steel and hinge rod. They are certainly robust! That is what I'd make as mounting solution and fun small project! Thanks fellas! Rick

    Price for HMMWV with title

I was commenting on an attribute of the human condition, not advocating for others to skirt the law. But I did not make a distinction in my post, so I accept and will heed the warning. Rick

    Tow Bar Stowage Ideas

I too remember a fellow who fabricated a set of beutific brackets for the front of his deuce. The brackets were double half circles that hinged like a clam shell. He had a winch truck and mounted them above the fairlead. But the same could be set up for a WO/W truck. Fat chance I'd find that...

Wheel Cylinder Rebuild Issues, Re-use Outer Seals

20 minutes of honing on a cylinder sounds excessive. But I'd do as you are doing and give them a try. x2 on the bearing preload. On used bearings I set them at zero lash without worries or issues. Rick

Question re: "Aux Power Circuit Relay" and trailer plug pin "k"

Jonathon, By reading your replies, it occurs to me that you may have already inspected the trailer plug and found a wire entering the trailer plug at position "k"? If so, please let me know what you find when you do that trace. Saturn Surplus has a variety of breakers for the purpose of...
