So what cabins are we all using? I'm in Chipmunk palace one (It don't look like a palace from the picture).

Official 2010 SS Ga Rally Info thread

I just had a crazy thought. Why don't all of us MVPA guys bring a copy of Army motors and pose for a "group" shot reading it. It might make a good "where in the world" entry. Regardless, I will bring my latest issue to actually read while I'm sitting around.

    2010 GA Rally Buy/Sell/Trade Thread

Here we go (again, I hit the wrong thing and lost this post a few minutes ago). I am bringing all the junk I can load. Two items are big and heavy so I want to know if someone is interested, otherwise they stay where they are. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PM ME. I don't have time to read threads...

    100k lbs gvw M818

WOW, I didn't know those tube grinders were that heavy. My brothers "beast" grinder is only 40,000 or so. I pulled it onto and off of a barge one time with the deuce Clinto has now. I have pictures somewhere. That was 2003.

    MVPA and Government Liquidation

Here's one more point. There are lots of business's out there that advertise for GL (this site is one). The difference between the MVPA and most others is the fact that members pick up the magazine and see an ad for GL. If this ad is the only contact they have with GL, they do not know that...

    MVPA and Government Liquidation

Your first statement above sums it up very well. People ask me why I just don't buy from someone else. As for ads, there where 59 full pages of ads in the August/September Supply Line if I counted right, and 2 of them where GL. We all agree in principal but I suspect we are all in the same...

    MVPA and Government Liquidation

I have noticed the front cover on my Supply line magazine has had a big expensive Government Liquidation ad on it for a while. I also received a calendar this week from the MVPA and noticed every Thursday is marked as a Government liquidation auction closing. I pay dues to the MVPA...

Quick question. If I bring one of my MEP701a generators, would anyone there be willing to help me troubleshoot the alternator (or generator) to find out why it doesn't put out? It runs great just won't produce 24 volts. Joe

M818 slinging oil on the front

Thanks guys, now I have a starting point.

M818 slinging oil on the front

I think I will wash it up tomorrow and let it run some more. The oil is very heavy around the drivers head light area but not too bad on the other side of the motor. It appears to come out with the engine at speed and not at all while idling. Of course it could be slinging it while idling.

I bought a Burma Jeep, Ford GTB

I cut off most of the modified stuff. I can't stand to have stuff like that on an old WW2 vehicle. I also put some 9.00 x 20 military tires on it to move it around. They can't stay because they are too big but I wish I could get away with it. They are paid for and new 7.50's are $212 each...

M818 slinging oil on the front

I picked up my XM818 from the auction house it had been at yesterday and towed the M886 behind it home. Everything went well for the 3 hour drive home. I was walking by it today and noticed some oil. Well maybe a lot of oil, on the front. It appears the belts and everything are getting oil...

OD Iron stopped making wheels, where to find this style now?

While on the subject, does anybody have 4 two piece wheels for a 5 ton? I have the military ones on my M813 but I need some more.

Official 2010 SS Ga Rally Info thread

I'm planning of bringing my 3000 watt "quiet" generator in case I need to use a few power tools and for my "movie projector". I am thinking of bringing my 8000 watt welder, in case I decide to weld something. I plan to arrive lunchish on Thursday and leave late Saturday or early Sunday. At...

I bought a Burma Jeep, Ford GTB

Now all I need is a truck like the one pictured above to look over. Anybody know of one here in the south east?

Cabarrus County, NC vs the Trappster

My issue is this. As someone who had never been to that intersection before and had not seen an over head photo or even what lied beyond my field of view, the sign in the area was not clear. My wife still maintains the believe we went strait, not left. After looking over the photos and...

How much trailer behind a M880?

Well I'm now confident enough to do something foolish. I rarely need encouragement for that. If you see a fast moving ambulance on the back roads of Georgia in a few weeks, get out of the way :driver:.

I bought a Burma Jeep, Ford GTB

The seat is from something else. I think it is a MUTT seat or some other jeep. I did uncover the hood number today. There was also a "S" just below the windshield on the passengers side. Anything on what that means. The numbers were blue on OD. It's funny how exciting something so trivial...

Cabarrus County, NC vs the Trappster

I think that is the place. It was at the intersection of Trinity church rd and Davidson highway. Here's a picture of the location. The red arrow is my path and the blue dot is the officers post. There was a no left turn sign where I put the red do. He cited me for not making a right turn as...
