How quickly does it start to over heat from when you first start it? Is the radiator hot too? Sounds like the coolant is not circulating. The coolant filter is set up as a bypass only? They can get really plugged up the first time.
Is there any funny smoke or smell coming from the stack i.e...

How and where are you mounting this 12v alternator? I too am looking for this type of mod. I don't even mind if it is not water proof. Maybe it can be mounted high?
I have seen some deuces with 11.00x20 tire from the Gov't, surely they have an adaptor intalled to keep correct speed. I know they are particular about speeding and I have never seen any kind of sticker for speed correction.
Does it just screw into a single hole or is there a bracket of some kind? I thought about just welding on a nut to the center windshield post, the just screw the mirror on.
Okay, I did several searches and I could not come up eith anything. Has anyone put a rearview mirror on their deuce? Have any PICs. I know there are military rearviews, but have not seen one in a deuce.
You can't have a muffler and not increase the back pressure, even the straight throughs. There will be a small drop in power along with a slight increase in EGT's.
I am going to get my bobbed deuce dynoed as soon as it is operational again. Can't find a dyno for my tandem truck.
I like the old shop vac idea, but I just through one out :cry: I saw my local Jeep dealership has a $19.95 (for all Jeeps) oil change special. One of my deuces is a Jeep-kaiser???
