    Full HMMWV restoration reccomendation

I'm not sure what you are asking? There are companies out there that specialize in military trucks that you could contract with to do the work you are looking to have done. As to what to do to your truck...well it's your truck how much money do you have will determine what modifications you...

    It's been a while.. M151 project

Man no apologies needed. Life gets in the way of our fun sometimes. Take care of yourself and family first. We'll be here when you're ready.

    M37 vs b1

The B1 also has the spare tire mounted on the drivers door. I also believe the B1s transmission is synchronized, but I may be wrong and someone else may prove or disprove that. My 53 was a rusty mess that I've had to slowly reconstruct over the last few years so I don't think there is much...

    Can anyone ID this Bracket?

It's not from the M880 or the Mid 70's Dodge W200. I would hazard to guess that that is a Jeep Cab over only part. You may need to see if someone can fabricate it for you.

    G506 Class 525 (G7133) restore

Have you tried good old chemical paint stripper on the sticky parts on that gas tank? Sometimes that will loosen and or dissolve that under coating. Might be worth a shot? Keep up the good work it is looking good!

    1952 XM211 Repower / Powertrain Swap

I think for what you need the truck to do the engine/trans swap is a good idea. Just keep the original engine to either go back in later or to sell to someone who needs it for their truck. You have some good advice here and also post lots of pics of the work in progress. Good luck with your...

    G506 Class 525 (G7133) restore

There can be many reason the engine was replaced. More power being one of them. I would just paint the engine OD like the original should have been and not worry about it. Nobody is going to look at it and say "hey that's the wrong engine." Painting what's in there that works is easier than...

    Duramax engine swap

Wouldn't poly bushing be better than hockey pucks? I would think HPs would give you a stiff ridged ride. Oh and yeah...we need pics or it isn't happening...LOL.

    G506 Class 525 (G7133) restore

Could your steering wheel be from a CCKW? The truck might have gone through a depot rebuild at some point and the 4 spoke wheel was put on....you know grab one from the pile of parts kind of thing?

    Help ID M37 LWB

My only question on this is how long will 16.5 inch tires be available? The automotive market has moved away from 16.5 and has gone either 16, 17, or 18 inch. So, 10 years from now when you need new rubber will we be able to get HMMWV size tires? That is why I've been shying away from the...

    m151 fuel tank

If your mutt is an A1 it should have the electric fuel pump in the tank under the big circle and also a fuel return line long with the power hook up for the pump. The smaller circle is for your fuel sender. Of course if someone put the mechanical A2 fuel pump on the motor then who knows how...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

I'm enjoying your posts and following along on what you are doing with your truck. I may not be saying hey good job after every post, but hey good job keep it up and keep the pictures coming.

    G506 Class 525 (G7133) restore

So, are you going to restore it as a fire truck in it's original configuration as it came from the factories or are you just going to set it up as a cargo trucK?

    It's been a while.. M151 project

The clutch and brake peddles are cut off M151a2 peddles that someone then rigged up to work upside down. Both the clutch and brake master cylinders are M151 brake master cylinders. M151's had a mechanical clutch. Someone went to a lot of work to make that thing. I'm not sure I would get it...

    It's been a while.. M151 project

We need more pictures of this beast. You have my huh button stuck and I want to see more...lol! As for the pioneer tool rack that is a standard M-series rack that would have been on a M37, M715, M35, 5 ton etc. Nothing special about it. Keep us posted on this one.

    M887 truck

The bed is probably rusted because it was a brush truck and the pumps leaked and water sat in the bed for periods of time. That's my guess anyway. Good looking truck. You may be able to get a painless wire harness for it to rewire it? Keep us posted with lots of pictures.

Estimating production year of an M151A2

Looks like you have a Ford A2 with a A1 grill. The composite lights on the fenders eliminated the need for black out marker lights in the grill. Therefore the A2 grill does not have the small black out marker lights in the grill because they are on the composite turnsignals lights. The body...

    Humvee summer question

The only problem I see with the folded windshield on the HMMWV is that your review mirrors are now looking at the sky instead of behind you. 1/4 tons (jeeps) had the mirror mounted to the cowl and therefore you could fold the windshield down and still have review mirror. So to be "legal" you...
