I made my own using Vinyl stick on letters. All MP markings in the 60s were unit made there was no stock item for marking just guidelines. The front sign that went on the windshield was made from wood or steel what ever was on hand. Was about 3.5 to 4 inches tall and little longer than the...
Time to upgrade the HMMWV. Install a GEP 6.5 turbo and 4L80 trans and you're all set. Still less money than 54K new truck. Just a thought. Nice looking rig and looks like something that could be lots of fun.
@Nathan Privat keep at it. You are a remarkable young man for taking on this project. But as you know this may be the only one left so I think it's great you are working to restore it. You are a few hundred miles from me so I can't help you turn wrenches, but if anyone can help even if it's...
It's your truck if you want to do an engine swap and paint it hot pink I say go for it....M43s are not that rare that you need to save every last one of them IMHO. But to answer your question. The frame swap may be easier to do than axle and motor/trans swap. To frame swap you will have some...
Most modern front axles with a passengers side drop (meaning the differential is on the passengers side of the truck) like a Dana 60 has the spring perch or mount for the spring is part of the differential housing. Plus there is very little room from the diff to the end of the axle to mount...
You know the rules of the internet. You have to post pictures or it didn't happen...lol!
Sounds like you're on the path to getting it back on the road.
You should be able to get troop seats from any 2.5 ton truck out there. Just do a web search for the fiberglass troop seats and you should be good to go.
I would agree with that. It sounds like your Voltage Regulator has an intermittent problem and that is why it's up and down. R&R the regulator or replace the whole alternator with a known good one.
There are two possible answers. 1 is someone took a A1 and put A2 fenders on it. or and more likely the 2nd is someone took a 70s A2 and got it titled as a 66. Since no form 97 were given with 151s people got them titled by many different means and they got the year wrong.
Hi all,
My family and I are headed to Connecticut on Labor Day weekend and I was wondering if anyone knows of any MV related events in CT that weekend. I would love to take my grandson to see some vehicles. We will be staying around the Harwinton - Waterberry area. Any info you can share will...
The first thing you need to look at is what is your daily drive? Do you just need to go a few blocks to work and the store to get a few things or do you have a 30 mile highway commute? Will you drive be back road max speed 35 mph or do you need to minimum of 55 mph to keep from being a hood...
The rod that has a hook on it does the adjusting and the free travel on the M151. Clutch free travel should only be about 1/2-3/4 of an inch if my memory serves me correctly. But don't take my old memory as gospel you can look it up in the the -20 manual to be sure. Not sure if adding length...
