I've said ti before and I'll say it again. Keep up the good work! You are doing a great job! For what it's worth I vote on the 270 and be done with it. Aint nobody going to know if it's "correct" or not. Put it back in and make it go varoom varoom... :)
Congrats to all of you on your great...
Just weld your frame mounts to the frame rails. It will be just fine. Skip the air brake idea and go with disk brakes. Actually the original brakes on the truck when working properly work very well. But if you want to redo them I'd look into disk brakes off of a large GMC truck and mount...
Amazing work you are doing there Zout! PB you've got to be smiling chest out like a proud Papabear! As for the unit that truck was with. Since the truck was here in the states I'd look for a 3rd Army unit that was state side during the war. In all likely hood that truck never left home soil...
Y'all are doing incredible great work! Such craftsmanship! Keep at it and post pics when you can. I wish I still had relatives in GA so I'd have a reason to come visit and see this in person. Keep up the great work!
I've looked at that as I have a M37 hard top, but it's in poor shape. I think the top from VP only has a spot for the rear window, but doesn't have an actual window so you would need to fab up a sliding rear window.
Wow talk about attention to detail! Ohlycrappa! If y'all get in touch with him found out how much to make another M37. I gots to have me one of them! The proportions are so good and accurate. A very skilled builder.
If you let the dry for a month or so before applying a another paint on top it should be fine. The only time I've had a problem is when the Gillespie hadn't cured and I've gone to stencil and it's lifted the paint up. Like paint on Tuesday stencil Tuesday evening kind of thing. Don't use...
Well I looked at Rapco and Army Jeep Parts for the "correct" paint but they don't seem to list the Yellow. I also don't know if it is the same yellow as the USMC uses for their markings. But I know that folks that have marked USMC vehicles have used Clark Tractor yellow, School Bus Yellow, and...
@Zout nobody can say you are a slacker. You get more done in one day than I've gotten done in three years on my project! Next I think your trivia question on the flooring. 3.75" Oak tongue and grove? Just like what is in my house.... :) Do I win a prize?
I think a trip to the local car audio boom you ears off store would be your best bet. The nice thing is you have a blank canvas to work with in the M1009.
Very Carefully?
All kidding aside. If your able to do what you have done already I would think you have the skill set to wire the amp up too. I'm not really sure what your asking exactly.
Just use some Wolmanized wood porch flooring...it's going to get painted OD so nobody will know it's not Oak. I'm sure they have a Home Desperate in your neck of the woods where you could get it cheep enough. Tell the Commander that you'll be made fun of and all the other kids will make fun...
You are ordering axles? Then you can give them the spring perch location measurements etc right? Remember on the dana 60 front the passenger side spring perch is part of the diff. housing. It isn't movable. The front they will have to shorten the drivers side to fit right under the truck...
