    816 Jakes and Turbo !!!!

Pull the valve covers and check the guide seals.

    816 Jakes and Turbo !!!!

With the injection pump it would need to be torn into. Not a home job to rebuild one of those. Is the oil by the turbo coming from further up the exhaust (those leaking valves) or the turbo itself?

    Survival 109 build

When I upload pics from the computer I click on the upload attachment link, and select the pics 1 at a time. No issues that way

    Ether Start Assist

Had to use some ether to get the m816 started about 2 weeks ago here in Utah. Running 4 not so good batteries, no block heater, and the intake heater currently doesn't work. Recipe for a hard start but the nhc250 eventually fired up, maybe low teens for the temp.

    Bandit's M931 Repower thread

Using the 5 speed would be the same as your stock auto, so no real benefits to fixing that trans. A 10-18 speed would be a great upgrade. If I had a place to put those parts and was closer I'd take them. I know a guy in Arizona that might be interested in the engine

    Red's deuce/camper project

After checking over the cost to get this truck exactly how I wanted, realized it was much cheaper for me to go to a 5 ton. Leaning towards a m820 or m934 but won't be starting a camper build till at least the summer.

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

I think using the air brake parts from a lighter duty tag axle on a dump truck would be the closest option. 6 lug, similar width/size. Cost is the factor, when I priced it out was looking at about a grand per axle, all new parts

    M1078 vx. Mitsubishi FUSO 4x4

My post was to point out your recommendation that, to build a custom camper is about the same price as buying one, is incorrect. People on this forum have proved that.

    M1078 vx. Mitsubishi FUSO 4x4

Hmmm, $200k+ for an Earth roamer or less than 1\10th of that for either setup that he is asking about. To the OP do a search for "camper" on this site, there are many conversions done here using other platforms such as the m109, m818/m931 with a shelter on the back, m820/m934.... Will give you...

    Ether bottle replacement

A block heater is much easier on the engine than starter fluid, but both work.

    M46A2C Brutus lives on

Out of curiosity did you put some rtv or cork gasket material in the keyway slot on the hub?

Would you drive your 5t to Baja?

You can cross the border with one of these trucks, but you need your documents (EUC I believe), basically stating that you will not sell the truck when outside the US.

    816 Jakes and Turbo !!!!

Considering that you haul often with the truck, the 3406a would be a great upgrade.

    816 Jakes and Turbo !!!!

Same with mine yesterday. Took a few puffs to get it fired up in the morning. I tried using the primer handle and pre heater but no luck till the ether was used.

    "Rescued" M816 Wrecker

Haha to keep complaints down is why the exhaust stack is facing the wrong way. The wrecker has a few seeping oil leaks and a steady drip from the crane PTO shafts lower CV joint while being used.

    "Rescued" M816 Wrecker

Really wish I had recorded the wrecker this morning. Had to shimmy the wrecker out from between the deuce and the garage, looked like Austin Powers when he had the golf cart stuck in the hallway hahaha. After the wrecker was free I parked it next to the deuce. Used it today to remove the...
