Yea most places don't do that type of schedule sadly. I'll be sending out applications, thanks for the help guys. Currently working, just looking for something better. Gonna be a busy week at Valence's place!

    Northern UT chapter

Nothing set in stone for me yet. Wanting to find a mechanic job with a weekly rotation schedule (2 weeks on, 1 off like how the oilfield is) which leaves options open to do stuff haha. On the side I'd like to start hauling some surplus stuff for some extra money.

Posting up. Living in Lehi until at least next summer. M35a2 is currently my only MV, saving up for a M816 that Zane is selling.

Well, I won the M934A2 I was bidding on!!

Blowouts seem to be most common on the 14" s. Looks like a good truck! What's the plan for it?

    Disc Brake Engineering Thread

I was afraid of the potential price tag, hadn't researched that yet. I'll be upgrading the brakes on mine around feb-april. Probably dual circuit and add in a couple pinion brakes for a true E brake setup.

Rusty there is also another assembly that does not require a different hub. Only 2 different model calipers now, one that's actuated by an air piston and the other is a normal air can. Most use the air can. If they have some that are designed for the tag axle used by cement trucks we might be...

    Disc Brake Engineering Thread

80k gvw Kenworth trucks, 2015 model year. They are air disks, no hydraulics with the brakes. The switch is optional. The latest drums will pass, but are not as good. The disk setup is pretty compact. Air can is attached to the caliper, so no rod or cam to adjust or find a place to mount with a...

So far no issues with heat fade or cracked rotors. Yes they have ABS at all wheels.

Rusty some of our new tractors have disk brakes, big improvement from the ones a few years ago. With disks at all 6 truck hubs and drums on the trailers 4 they are down to 210ft stopping distance from 60mph with 80k pounds. The air disks from 5 years ago are not that good. Latest generation...

All these trucks, deuce, m54, m809, m939, run the standard width frame rails that the civilian side uses. The dual countershaft transmissions fit. Here's a pic from a NTC 400 engine and a Eaton/Fuller dual countershaft transmission install in a M819. From this thread...

    Red's deuce/camper project

Holding off on the shelter, too much other stuff going on and I don't want to get stretched too thin. The engine swap in the Deuce has been delayed a few weeks. Have a gentleman's agreement with Valence to buy the M816 wrecker later this winter that we've been working on, details in the...

    "Rescued" M816 Wrecker

Checked out the air system as well. The truck compressor won't get over roughly 80psi. So turned the truck off and connected the house air compressor and raised it up to 110psi. The clutch lever is working, but not moving the clutch enough to disengage it. Maybe 1/3rd-1/2 the clutch movement...

    "Rescued" M816 Wrecker

No carrier bearing on that shaft. There is a bolt that threads into the shaft from the backside of that bearing, looks like it loosened till it fell out and let the shaft fall out of the bearing splines. The bearing needs to be replaced or rebuilt but so far the rest of the crane system looks...
