Still needs lots of attention, getting the truck running and the crane operating were priority. Runs happily with either the crane or rear winch engaged, which is perfect for now.
Repairs required:
Rear clutch control
PTO for front winch
Cable for front winch
Everything greased
All other fluids...
The rear axles are the problem, their pinion is offset on the wrong side. Could run the pinions backwards in the rear axles but then your running on the weak side of the gears.
Let's see if the video uploads. After Greg towed my deuce to Valence's place we hooked up to the wrecker and used it to place the deuce in position.

Hopefully tomorrow will top off the fluids and test out the crane!
Similar experience with mine back in June. Coming to a stop I had both feet on the brake pedal and was pulling on the steering wheel hard enough to flex it a few inches up.
Simple Green works pretty well on other oils, worth a shot.
Being on the east now parts are much more common so shouldn't be hard to find some spare heads to have worked over.
A second vehicle is nice to have. That's what I use a motorcycle for haha.
Lol I'll keep it in this thread. The deuce will be tractor some of the time, and camper other times. The tractor spare tire carrier and storage box will stay on the truck, only the 5th wheel and ramps will be removable.
Thinking of moving the rear tandems back instead of chopping the frame to...
Worked on the wrecker some yesterday, getting the crane operating so the engine and transmission can be pulled from the deuce.
Looking the deuce over Valence found that my rear brakes are now leaking. We pulled the cargo cover off to place it in storage along with the parts that were sitting in...
Installed the replacement PTO shaft between the power divider and the crane yesterday and drained the old oil from the reservoirs at the ends of the shaft. Need to pick up a 90 degree fitting for the hose to pump the new oil in there and a grease gun before the crane is tested.
With the deuce...
I'd finish the brakes first, one task at a time.
With the heads you could pick up a spare to have rebuilt at the machine shop and swap it out. Might be cheaper than the hotel and car rental. For a week.
