BOYS!
It is now time to start working on our representatives to get the law amended on these trucks, as NOBODY is producing a new M715 or M35A2 in the states, we aren't going to be hurting any current producers... If KIA can sell cars here, we need to get at least...

I guess the old boy up above must not have stuck around for the class on civility, pity, it's his loss. I will say that that was one odd Pinzgauer, but then I would not have figured out that it was from an auction except the old boy seemed to know a lot about a vehicle...

If you want to do faster then 45-48, go find an M1008... The mods you plan to make on the deuce only increases your liability in case of an accident, as you are reengineering an known system with unknown components. Your insurance company may not choose to...

I always love the commentaries on the 3 lever versus the Tacom headlight switches, on here, it is always a hoot. It comes down to personal preference, some people like dinosaurs, some don't. I prefer being able to touch any swicth in the dark and have the panel light up...

You can also get a generator that will fit on the PTO output of your tractor's 3 point hitch, but it might not be able to regulate as close as you might which on HZ. A separate back up unit would be preferable and it should be loaded at all times to 60-80% load factor or...

I work for Uncle Sam, he is NOT in the business of rebuilding equipment for civillians for any reason, unless you happen to be a government leader they want to humor..... Look at the value sticker on the door of any decommissioned M35A2 for what Uncle...

If the air compressor makes up the leakage, you're good, don't worry about it! The truck was buildt with 1948 technology, so yes, the system is never going to be airtight unless you rebuild and replace everything in it.... Then when you start it up...

You have found yourself a fairly rare shop van built just before WWII for some branch of the service. One of these turned up on EBAY a while back and went for fair change in better shape. Many of the running gear components will be similar to the...

"Not Built to US Standards"....That's rich, considering they were built to standards set out in the purchase contract by the U.S.Army....!roflThe Federal code does say these vehicles are grandfathered from any later standards, all they have to meet is the contract...

You're a little late on the Ford! I had an 1989 F250 that was some kind of prototype from Canada, as it had way oversize front and rear axles and springs from the factory, and almost nothing on the suspension was locatable on the computer as actually having been on that...

Remember, these trucks were built for off road use in tactical situations. Generally during their operational life the MPH works out to 22 to 25 MPH. Yes, all four tires in the rear are driving, but due to no interaxle differntial, these trucks hate...

Now you have your first education on OD Iron. First, it is not smart to drive a truck you know nothing about, how to inspect or repair it. You were probably inches from killing someone other then yourself, which would get the rest of us in a lot of grief...

Yep, those are truely ruinations of fairly rare military trucks.... I drove M715's in their original form and felt that they were better then the later CUCV's for power and capacity... Any man can waste money, though, it is their right to do so, but 50 years from...

I'd hate to rain on the man's parade, but... No, the deuce was not designed as a commercial vehicle, unfortunately it is of the class and construction as defined above to be termed a "Commercial" vehicle because they are used by others for logging and construction purposes...

So, Doghead, we have a military motorcycle forum on here dedicated to British/Indian Diesel Enfields? And heck, an O.D. Prius is nothing if not a suppository for a Unimog or a Deuce in that order......:D Now I'll get my:deadhorse:, but the laughs should be worth it, cause...

I back up Recovery4X4 above. IF IT ANNOYS YOU, go do your pre trip inspections! A real man PMCS's the truck up the wahzoo, and if you havent seen the PMCS for a deuce or a 5 or 10 ton, and you don't use it every day, maybe you really need an M1009. The PMCS's are on here...

I still wish I was in Texas with the true duece, as a privately owned vehicle, a deuce at 24,500 GVW in non-commerical service does not require anything more then a standard driver's license there... Here in IL...nothing over 16,000Lbs gross, it's just...

I know this is gonna start ye old firestorm...BUT your used motor oil paid no road use taxes! Sales tax, yes, road use tax,no. If the fuel test of your tank proves you have fuels in there that are not commercially dispensed through a pump that road use taxes are collected...
