Dear Papabear:
I can see where you sit, and I feel for you. The truth is, most museums are a great deal of talk with little or no $$$$ to back them up. I loaned a 1955 PRR/PC/CR GP-9 locomotive to a museum group that went defunct when I was on furlough one year. I did not...

Take care of your vehicle, drive like a sane person, and always have a satellite phone if you are that far back in the boonies!
I find the comment from one of the Land Rover owners up above about the big three pretty interesting, as my 1963 Unimog has dragged almost...

Good luck on the repairs, but further proof of no matter how much you maintain them, there is always a certain unknown failure facture that is going to make itself felt. Regrettably, sooner or later the decision is going to have to be made to either preserve them and not fly...

Say is that an Uzi? :)Like UZI does it, you're gonna damage that Italian wheel chock! If you hadn't bobbed the deuce, you could have stowed that thing in the back for a life raft in case of a breakdown! I don't think Austin Powers would be caught dead in a Fiat, but lets...

Now may not be the time to mention this to the OP, BUT there is a special tool kit for pulling Multifuel engine sleeves properly, and they often turn up on EBAY for cheap!:gimp2:

I seem to remember that same statement was made about the Japanese in 1940.... Untill we got our tails shot off by the "Zero", designed and flown by little guys who needed glasses.... I think if you ask the guys who went to WWII in the Brewster Buffalo, they probably would have...

Howdy, dlieber!
Hope you make it back in one piece from Indianapolis, but I would check the truck with a fine tooth comb as GL rarely represents the trucks as being in the actual shape they say they are...generally there are a lot of surprises! However, as the sole...

I'd still courtmartial the guy that mounted the racks in the corner of the cab with the muzzle down...It's just not SOP!:gimp2: The mounts to the right of the instrument panel are as specified by Uncle Sam!(At least for the M35A2)!
Oops! That New York Pizza must have made...

To borrow a term from Justin Wilson : It's beutimous, I garontee!" I am normally not an M151 fan, but that one is a work of art!

If you want to do it right, hunt up a Unimog U1300L which virtually every one of them has the gunner's hatch and copy that design. I suspect that the German engineers probably built one that is more water tight then any motorpool variation.... Just a suggestion!

Bill Turner or Bob Turner's Surplus in New Boston, TX can set you up with all the correct pioneer rack tools you want for a fair price! What you may have adapted fits, but it might not be "right" as it is not NSN stock. Just pointing out the fact....

Gents:
Seems like some of our moderators feel that we aren't up to speaking out for ourselves and protecting our interests. Kinda reminds me of Czechoslovakia being well cared for by Britain in 1938. The man's entitled to his opinion, wrong or right! We do need to put...

Another reason NOT to own a Dodge Caravan.... The fault was mine in closing up after a stop (25' back from the Caravan),the foot came off the clutch at a KMPH and there is no way 4 unassisted drum brakes are gonna stop a Unimog in 1st gear! ...Still not much there but tin...

Respectfully, based on what the MVPA has done in Wisconsin, Iowa and anywhere else the working or everyday use of Former Military Vehicles has been threatened or abolished by state governments and DOT's, there is no use whatsoever expecting anything from that bunch of...

Nice truck, regret it's Belgian as the switch layout may be different then the Swiss ones. Just turn them one at a time when the truck is on, you'll figure out which switch does what! My MB mechanics around here almost always have to call in a German speaking customer, because...

Given that Hornets have two engines, this one probably was very bad for the pilots to bail out over land! As they said back in 1903, "it will never catch on!".....:(

I'd bet someone on here would buy it if they got a good deal and could find parts! The bragging rights would be something fierce! Kinda like an AMC PAcer with a Stallone attitude!

Ditto Ferro's comment above! It is not a good idea on a deuce to go much below 1/2 tank, as you might pull up 50 years of crud off the bottom of the tank where it's been in suspension since at least 25 years ago....
