    Deuce Sold!

April 4th, 2012. Gents: Yes, I would guess the gentleman is probably on here or a MVPA person, at least I hope he is near enough to either the Piney Woods or RRVMVPA groups to get advice so he doesn't inadvertently kill the deuce. I don't know if he ever owned one before, but we shall find...

    Deuce Sold!

April 3rd, 2012. My old deuce, "Saddam's Nightmare" and the M105A2 trailer in Blossom, Texas sold yesterday to a man from down near Tyler,TX. I am going to miss her as she was part of the family since October 2007, but I could not get reposted in time back to Texas, and sitting does not help a...

    My 1st MUTT

March 29th, 2012. Definitely a nice M151. Just remember to watch the main crossmemember for rust, and don't drive like Mad Max, as this model was a bit touchy in some turning situations... All in all, I'd be  over it.

    M715 style new Jeep concept

March 29th, 2012. Well, at least that new Jeep won't be worth a darn in rough terrain if they don't separate the cab and the bed... But then so few people today seem to beat the tar out of their pickups, insta=ead they use them as six pack and bikini haulers... I would love to track down one...

    Gunship tactics today

March 29th, 2012. It would be interesting to compare gunship tactics as practiced in Vietnam and today in Afghanistan by folks who actually have done both (No, I'm not saying there is a Vietnam era pilot still running gunships...just the tactics and the reasons, man), and then maybe compare...

    Camouflage Netting for Unimog?

March 25th, 2012. Gents: Before the moderators have a fit, let me tell you WHY I will be looking for some temperate green camouflage netting for the Unimog...... Right now I am not in the wealth to buy it even if it turns up.... But, remember I work at the Lincoln Home National Historic...

    Should I?

March 25th, 2012. I'd ship the truck from Seattle, but you really do not want to tempt Canadian Customs and police with the firearms, otherwise you will become a cause celebre... It is their country, so be aware of that fact, and the fact you are an American might not carry too much weight if...

    Seebee emblem

March 14th, 2012. Rick LArsen also has the paint masks and stencils I believe.... BUT you'll never convince most folks it was a seabee truck unless it has lots of rust in the undercarriage from salt water.....8-)

    Patton's Command Van Under Restoration

March 14th, 2012. No, it was Patton, and the car was his Dodge Touring car. MacArthur was also the guy responsible for breaking up the WWI bonus marchers camp in D.C. during the depression. Patton had money, I doubt if he ever rode in many Model "T"Ford's in or out of the army. He basically...

No More Political Avatars or Signatures or Slamming!!!

March 10th, 2-12. Steelsodiers: Roger, Wilco! It takes a hercules to clean out an Augean Stable, Go to it man, I will back you 100%![thumbzup]

    Volvo Sugga Restoration underway

March 9th, 2012. Pity the dead bull people had to molest so many Suggas. They have a certain elegance for a military vehicle, and the art deco guage cluster was like many of the civillian based truck parts that a lot of USN,USAAF and USA trucks ad early in WWII..;-)

    Replacement radiator

March 9th, 2012. No... BUT White Owl Parts in Kinston, NC can set you up with a new original for less then recoring. Because the deuce uses a "Bucket" type radiator, nobody today carries the right types of cores and they are not heavy enough to take the abuse a deuce radiator gets in service...

Was I in Violation of Some Rule?

March 8th, 2012. And it even works for technically savvy guys like me, who went big on Dixie Cups and string as communications devices!;-)

FMV Plate Bill Introduced in Illinois

March 7th, 2012. I almost makes me want to bring the deuce from Texas! Nah, life on an urban lot with a deuce, trailer, Unimog and jeep ain't gonna be good.... But I do hope you can get it passed!fat lady sings

    Parking Lights

March 7th, 2012. Better you guys reinvent the wheel. I can see no reason why a deuce needs to have the parking lights on when the headlights are on... Go figure. The cop could not ticket you because the truck lights were working as designed. However if you go adding lights to bring it to a...

    Backing up a 105

MArch 4th, 2012. I agree with Recovery 4X4 above, practice, practice, practice... and when you can't see the lugnuts or the sidegates on the trailer, it's about to do a 90* on you. They are easier to back up then ball hitched trailers, and if your deuce has air steering and low range, you are...

    Km450???

MArch 2nd, 2012. Gents: Be careful what you wish for..I don't believe S.Korea forbids the importation of Chevy's or Ford's, but ask yourself, how many 6 and 8 cylinder cars and trucks (much less V-10's) are you going to sell in a country where gasoline is probably already $5.00 a gallon? You...

    Rules clarification

March 2nd. 2012. I guess I must be one of the few on here who can see the wisdom of what both Mr. Stansbury and Petracy are trying to do. Yes, it is a dictatorship, no, they are trying to save us from our bad habits picked up over many years of neglect. If you aren't happy about it, set up...

    John Tennis AKA JATonka

MArch 1st, 2012. Ditto on John Tennis and George Kivett.... I've dealt much more with the Kivetts, and they were always quick to get my needed parts out to repair a very much loved and babied everyday working deuce.... KUDOS, Gents!![thumbzup]

    Locker selection for daily driver

February 28th, 2012. TActical Doc: Since you are looking for no maintenance on your hubs, I think you may be disappointed in whatever you put on your truck, as it is a civillian truck and not really intended for serious off roading or fording. The CUCV's were designed with 80% on road and...
