Is there a clearance issue with tieing into the original mount point? To me that would be the easist thing to do.
Another thought would be to make a cradle which would bolt to the motor and then go out to the existing mount points and then back to another spot on the frame. Like a piece of...
To get back to the OP. I think you'de be hauling a lot of extra crap with you just in case you broke down. By the time you set up camp you could have gotten help and ben back on the road. If y ou are driving a HMV you should carry some spare parts with you always. You should always have...
This is just a guess...but I bet it was a moving target for range operations. The plate in the back was for the range target (maybe early tows or dragons that fired a subcaliber round) and the roll bar was incase the drive slipped of the pit berm. The plate might have been an anchore for the...
I like that your making it a pick-up version. A lot of people opt for the 4 seater or the turtle back. I like the look of the 2 seater. That punch out list is never really finished just when you think your done you find something to add to it. MV Ownership Rule 6.
Drop the heater. It will take time, but you'll thank yourself later. With the heater in it makes doing many things on that side of the truck a real PITA.
@GF I wouldn't worry about it. The compressor is going to kick on and off even with the truck sitting at idle. Your air system even though in theory is a closed system you will loose air someplace at some time. So the compressor will kick on and off to keep the tanks filled.
The only thing with synthetic oil is that sometimes when one makes the change over from old diansore guts oil the seals that didn't leak before the synthetic start to leak after because the synthetic is a little thinner than the old d-guts oil was. But now we have a great read on how to replace...
Slooooooow spool! How did I do? You truck is really coming along. Did you get your trans cover figured out yet? Or is that next on the list. Keep up the good work!
That's the biggest thing is getting the 12V hooked up correctly to power the radio. I would do a search for a radio that maybe meets Mill standards for shock/vibration and moisture. This way it has a chance working 6 months down the road.
Come on cut him some slack the D and the F are right next to each. :)
I'd pull the axle shafts and let the wheels free spin also. Like :gimp2: said make a cover plate out of almost anything and have fun. For a cover you could even use the lid off of a cool whip container or simular type...
Yep someone put the wrong rims on the truck You can tell by how far they are sticking out from the truck. Nice truck. The hard part will be finding the right bed for it. Welcome to the site and good luck with your project.
Well if it were me. I would look for a ring mount section out of a slant back hummer and see if there was a way to modify it to fit the opening of my wagon. No matter what you do there is going to be some fabrication involved, time, money, head scratching, measuring twice cutting once etc to...
