I believe that you will benefit from adding a split brake system to your truck.

The A3 version & some late model USAF A2's had a 'split brake system' your passenger car does also.
The rest of the A2's have a single reservoir master cylinder that feeds all 6 wheel cylinders.
a split system has a dual reservoir master cylinder, typically 1 for the front and 1 for the rears...
Air lockers would be sweet.
I would have them individually actuated, so you could just engage 1 for some extra traction without the severe load on the driveline

What rims you running?
mine are on the stock 6 7/8" wide M880 rims, a little narrow as the recommended width is like 8 1/2.
I'd say mine likes to "follow the road" due to being on narrow rims, but I have not felt sway when trailering.

and those front fenders and inner fender wells are unique to those Ambulances.
The ones I've seen have the D70 closed knuckle and 4 sp trans.

Well until we here from someone that really knows the answer, I am saying Goodyear's came on the trucks, and whatever brand the base/command procured for replacements
Arsenal of Democracy MotorPool MVPA will be at Greenfield Village this weekend. This is another of the events that I had hoped to attend this year.
While pre registration was required to have your MV involved, the event as a spectator will still be amazing.
