Well, How much are you willing to pay? How complete is the truck. It's green with white stars, but is it restored or just repainted? What are the mechanicals like? Is all the electrical complete and working properly? Does it run and steer correctly? All these are factors that you need to...
To civilians in the US, Section 8 is government subsidised housing. In the military it means that Klinger was trying to prove he was crazy so he could get out of the Army.
Good job on the info hunt there Gun! I had always figured that the diffs had to have been used on civy trucks also.
Get a throtle cable from any older MV (M35, M151, M38a1) and mount it someplace on the dash or a bracket below the dash and hook it to the throtle cable that hooks to the gas peddle. Then just pull it on and lock it in place. Just like on the old gas motors use to use it for the same thing...
I wonder what would have happen if the M211 serries of trucks had developed instead of the M34 serries and would have gone through the A1,A2, A3 changes that the other duce did? I wonder what the modern truck would have been like.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I've owned both...
Yeah what JM and Zig said! The Ab-15 or the AB558 with the MS antenna sections is an easier set up than trying to rework the tuned base antenna which are for a higher frequency than where CB radio is set at.
I think your truck is very restorable. Working on Bbig MVs is like eating an elephant. You take one bite at a time! Focus on one part and make it new, then the next part, then the next etc etc and then your done restored truck! Try some Marvels Mystory Oil in the spark plug holes and let it...
Those are amphenol(sp?) connectors. There was a thread on here where someone rebuilt them.... if my memnory serves me. The M35 uses the same type connector to go from the cab to the rear harness also.
Great truck! Should be an easy restore for you it is mostly complete and it runs. You should be able to figure out the trans issue no problem. Good save and keep pictures coming as you work on it!
Nice work so far. Your doing a great job! I did a late 45 CCKW with another guy about 20 years ago and I know it can be a lot of work! Keep at it your doing a great job! Wait till you get to the body work....:) rofl
If the time is right and I have a place to store it and the price is right and a M211 or M220 which I would love to have falls into my lap I would have one again. I've said it before I've had a M211 and a M35A2 and I loved the 211. Only thing I would do is look for a good diesel from like a GM...
That was my thought too. What is missing on the engine. Carb and distribitor? Generator? If you wanted to do a restoration then I would look into finding the parts that are missing and looking to get those parts. The 302 was a hard motor to kill so I bet if you find out what is missing and...
Maybe someone else can chime in here, but it is my understanding that the axles used on the M211/M135 trucks was used on some GMC commercial applications. There has got to be some type of corss reference out there somewhere. It may take some digging on your part to find it.
Not trying to be...
I too have owned and driven the M211 and the M35A2 and though I enjoyed the M35A2 road speed and being able to keep up with traffic on the highway I didn't enjoy the ride. The M211 was a much smoother ride for a big truck than the M35.
If you are looking to repower the truck you are going to...
Can anyone tell me how to remove the push rod that goes from the peddle to the hydroboost? I'm using a hydro/MC from a CUCV in another application and I need to get or shorten the push rod.
Thanks,
Joe
The cab is painted OD and I don't see any evidence at least in the pictures of it ever being Strata blue. There was a time period where the USAF trucks were painted OD. Just some food for thought.
The governor is part of the carb if I remember correctly. It's been about 13 years since I played with a GMC so I'm foggy here, but I seem to think it was a diaphram on the side that limits the throtle plates. I bleave that you can just remove the vacume line to disable it. I wouldn't recomend...
