I think making it a camper is a good idea since it's already been stripped out. Also there's nothing like doing body work in the snow. Good thing you have spare parts around! Keep up the good work and keep the pictures coming!
Look around your town and see if you have a u-rent-um type place. Many of them will rent equipemtn trailers which will be big enough with ramps for the truck to fit on.
I don't think it was anything special. Just a bent piece of steel dowl. Maybe 3/8th or 1/2 inch thick? Not sure if they came from the factory that way for the Marines or if they added them at the local level.
Yep Korea was the first war fought in Washington and not on the battle field. I read Bradleys Autobiography and he was then Cheif of Staff and I think the first Cheif of Staffs...and he makes it clear in his book that Washington was calling the shots and not the field commanders.
Oh and yes...
The transmission got a bad rap and the GIs didn't like it, plus the REO (M35) design had more common parts with the 5 and 10 ton trucks so between the boys not liking the trucks transmissions and one door for three trucks in the parts system the GMCs were doomed. Shame though....they are a good...
Huh...I must be a lucky guy...maybe I'll play the lotto or something.... I just removed my glow plugs and they all just came right out with no problem. None broke or anything.
Basically the power steering gear and the pump and hoses from a mid 70's dodge W200. Of if you want go to the auto parts store and get those parts from them...will cost you more, but they will most likely be rebuilt items so that could be a plus.
Try any atuo glass shop they should have the gasket. Or a place like Glass Doctor which does home, commercial and auto glass they will have a bunch of different gaskets and can hook you up.
The round windows were CCKW modified tops and the square sliders are M37 originals.
I used penetrating oil and a BFH on mine....did I mentioned I'm looking for a new wheel?
If you got some metal laying around you could fab up your own puller. Basically the C shapped cup that goes under the wheel hub and a gear puller to hook onto it. The idea is you pull from the back of the...
Nice looking rig you got there! As you looked at Mr. Clouds aka Sunshines list of vehicles you can clearly see why it's called OD Fever and OD Disease! If the M35A3 in your avitar is yours then it looks like you have a bad case of this curse! At one point in my life I owned Two M151s, 2 duces...
I know that's a 700r4 but it must be out of a Jeep or something because it has a drivers side drop on the transfercase. Which I know isn't a problem for you because your using the trucks T-case for well the t-case and this is just to give you high low range..... Just looks funny because of the...
I think one of the members here made a duplicate decal of the warrenty. I know I did a typing up of it in MS Word, but I think he had it actually made.
Must be the way the truck was sitting and the way the picture was taken, but it looks a little off. If it can be made to run and is in fair condition I'd give $1500-2000 for it. That's just what I would pay.
