Moving from Texas to Bellingham Washington

Great to hear! Where I'm at right now is great for work, but its 4 hours driving at 75mph from anything to do. As far as work goes I'm a diesel and hydraulic field mechanic, primarily large generators and oilfield equipment. Haha college town, that could be trouble! I'm 27, but I've had the...

Moving from Texas to Bellingham Washington

Thanks. Looking for a place with things to do outside of work, especially with the outdoors (hiking, offroading, shooting, etc). ****, maybe even a woman that can put up with my crazy self hahahaha.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Thanks, it will be repainted later. I'd like to repaint it using those ceramic microbeads to help insulate, they don't cost much and mix with any paint. I also need to cut into it for a window and an ac unit. For this trip it will be strapped down, thinking of bolting it down later so it can...

Moving from Texas to Bellingham Washington

Unofficial word is getting laid off in may, so about 2-3 months left at most. Picked up the 105 trailer last weekend, great shake down run.

    In-cab noise under 70dB, doable?

Exhaust routed to the rear and a muffler added brought mine to 84 decibels at 55mph, right around 70 at idle. Not insulated yet.

    Red's deuce/camper project

I can get my hands on some DOT steel braided cloth covered hose and reusable jic fittings. Running that for my fuel line already as well. The truck did great on the camping trip to Big Bend.

    Last minute Big Bend Trip

More pics of the morning drive. Yes, I was taking pictures by hanging my hand out the window while driving, bad ginger hahaha. Was a fun trip, glad to spend time with Vped and his wife again. Round trip was roughly 600 miles, other than the no defroster issue and the blown air line things...

    Last minute Big Bend Trip

After the hike we decided to go check out the toughest trail in the area, "Black Gap", in the dark. Not many pictures of the trail but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND POWER STEERING!!!! Steering wheel was constantly jerking and that first turn is extremely tight. Completed the trail in 4x6 with the...

    Last minute Big Bend Trip

After we met we went to enjoy some of the scenery in the main areas of the park. Driving from here is when the air line blew off of the compressor (better quality lines now). Picked up a few passengers once the line was fixed, probably a chilly ride for them in the back of the truck but they...

    Last minute Big Bend Trip

Finally getting around to uploading the pics. The drive down there Friday took forever to get from Midland to Alpine because of bad weather. No defroster in the deuce meant kidnapping the passenger from another vehicle and having him scrape the driver side windshield constantly. Spent Friday...

    Red's deuce/camper project

Mud is something I tend to avoid. Gearing let's me idle up the rocks/trails slow and controlled. Trans upgrade is on hold for at least a few months. Windshield wipers, air line upgrade (better quality), and maybe a hx35 turbo are all that will happen to the truck before the move.

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

Moving the suction line as well would allow for the best flow/cooling with your tank.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Took the truck down to Big Bend last weekend with Vped and a few other friends for some relaxation. Other than a blown airline and windshield wiper issues the truck did great. Averaged 10mpg with mostly diesel fuel and cruising at 22-2300 rpm (55mph roughly). Not bad for a mix of mountains and...

LDS Hydraulic Pump Powering a Hmmwv Hydraulic Winch

Your fittings are too close. When the fluid is being returned to the tank the hot oil is pushing the cooler oil away from the suction port. Notice how the ports are far away from each other with the tsc tank? It prevents that issue. Modify your tank to have the fittings on opposite ends of the...

    Survival 109 build

Very nice. What model pump are you using for the 'on demand' fresh water?
