any mechanics specializing in CUCVs in OR or WA?

Also when cranking the starter, does it turn at normal speed (with batts charged) or really, really slowly like it's only turning over at half speed?

any mechanics specializing in CUCVs in OR or WA?

Going off the pics your batteries are setup in series (24 volt), but you said he started a 12v conversion? Is the alternator still a 24 volt or is it a 12 volt?

M35a2 3 GROOVE PULLEY FOR AIR COMPRESSOR OR ALTERNTOR PART SOURCE????

For the power steering fluid requirements its kind of hard to pass up on the pump from the 5ton trucks. With a 12 volt alt TM America makes the brackets, multiple threads in this section about a 12volt system.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Mounted up a waste oil/other fuels filter station on the front of the trailer. Need to finish the mounts and make a box for it to protect from the weather. New hx35w arrived today as well.

Exactly, not a high power goal (very happy with just 180hp), the main goals are reliability and efficiency. I stay below 2300rpm, with a cruising preference of 2100. The stock turbos were installed for emissions, not power or efficiency.

Found a post from rustystud listing the ARP head stud info: Got the part numbers from "ARP" . The studs are all 9/16" . The 6.160" long stud is # AQ6.120-1LB , price is $11.50 ea. . The 6.380" long stud is # AQ6.500-1LB , price is $12.34 ea. The 2.620" long stud does not have an exact match...

    Red's deuce/camper project

I've been finding posts of others cranking up the stock turbo to 15-19 without head lift issues, with stronger studs and a good gasket mid 20's shouldn't be an issue

Anyone have the info on which studs to get?

    Red's deuce/camper project

At 24 or 27? Either way I agree, might turn it down some for initial testing. With the waiting today figured I'd start test fitting the water cans and generator. Can't fit the jerry cans over the stock fuel tank, too close to the bed. Same problem with the generator (24x18x18). I can fit the...

A Chinese copy of the hx35, stock turbo on the Cummins 12 and 24 valve. Cost about $260. Turbo wastegate is set at 24psi. I have not found anyone that has run it on a multifuel. Its a much more efficient turbo, with the ability to effectively flow at a higher rate than the C, and D turbos...

Need to do some cutting on the front of the bed to access the electric/water hookups. Will pull the camper back 1-2ft, cut, then slide the camper forward again

Hahahaha so true. The things we did to equipment.

    Deuce load?

No worries. Was always entertaining following the deuce and watching the practice bombs bouncing off each other and the rocks

    Deuce load?

Multiple bombs totaling 20k pounds. Mk 82, 83, 84, etc.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Removed the stock fuel filter assemblies and bypassed the FDC. Once the new drill gets here I can finish up the spin on filter mounts and plumb it all back up. Ordered an HX35 turbo for testing along with the exhaust parts to plumb it in.

    Deuce load?

I know on the demolition range we would regularly chain up to 20,000 pounds of practice bombs (concrete filled) behind the deuce and drag them over to a collection point. Up/down the mountain sides and across the salt flats in northern Utah. 35mph and less with no complaints from the old A2. Few...

http://www.hytechsales.com/insulating_paint_additives.html Provides an extra layer of sound and thermal insulation. I'd like to test it on the cab/hood first sometime in the next 2 years.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Waiting for the new drill to arrive so kind of at a stand still this weekend. Upgrading to a spin on secondary fuel filter and moving both filters to the engine, where the stock secondary filters were. Bypassed the FDC. There is safety wire all over that, don't think mine was turned up by the...
