From one border to the other in a deuce and m105

Getting ready to move from Midland Texas up to Bellingham Washington. I'll be driving the m35a2 with cargo cover and a m105 in tow. Camping out of the deuce and all the stuff I'm bringing with me will be in the trailer. Planning to camp for most of the trip.

Will do. The trailer is loaded up with most of my stuff. Will have the cover on the deuce next week and should be ready soon after that. Planning to stay at camp sites most of the trip.

    Red's deuce/camper project

As I mentioned to some of the guys at the Texas rally I've decided to sell the MUST shelter. One of my roommates bought it and I'll be dropping it off at his hunting land on Wednesday. Was concerned about the tall flat front and its effect on fuel economy/speed. Plus I don't have the time to...

Testing your Antifreeze/Coolant - Important Antifreeze Facts

Also need to take into account what kind of sleeves the engine uses. Wet, dry, or no sleeves? Dry sleeves (what the multi uses) are the least susceptible to pH issues.

Need anything moved from Texas to Washington?

Will be moving in about 2 weeks and will have some extra room in my deuce and M105 for cargo. Texas, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington are the states I'll be passing through.

    Red's deuce/camper project

Drove the truck about 30 miles today to my friends welding shop. With the MUST shelter in I can eventually get to 55mph, but 50 is more common. Sustained EGT's of 1000-1100 with the throttle lock maxed (travels further than my pedal). The welder is building the bed roller, and (time permitting)...

All back together, fires up with the pedal floored. Idle has dropped to 700rpm, was at 1,000 before. Idle is a little too low for when the truck is cold, stalls out.

IED's and tanks are a bad combo.

Got it. Also learned that the adjustment screw on my FDC does not have a Allen slot. Turning the nut does not rotate the screw on mine, just moves it in/out. Yes, I set it back to where it was.

Good news, the HH is off. Bad news, button and the little keeper decided to dive down the hole, deeper into the injection pump.

Was great to meet everyone! Had a good time and wish I'd been able to bring my deuce on the trip. Event was well organized and very relaxed.

Good to know. Marks are lined up, HH doesn't want to move. I'll mess with it again probably tomorrow before I leave for the rally

How the **** are you getting access to the harmonic balancer? I'm a skinny guy and can't get to it haha. Complete brain fart on the driveshaft, thanks

I'll be there Friday evening. Bringing the stock seat and my camping gear. Will be in the duramax, hydraulic head issues with the deuce

Will do. Is there an easy spot to slowly turn the engine over? I know I could pull the starter to do it but is there a easier location?

Well the fuel rod seems to be moving just fine. Cleaned it up and it moves without resistance/snaps forward. Pull the bolt to access the plunger in the hydraulic head. Placed a punch in there and slapped it with my hand, marked it, and turned the engine over. Fuel seems to be flowing well...
