    Appels M998 hmmwv build...

I guess I shouldn't say anything because of the amount of welding I've been doing on my M37 cab. In retro speck drilling out and re-rivetting might be less work... :) Keep up the good work and keep the pics rolling.

    First '52 XM211

There are two types of GMC 302 motors. Those that have a manifold leak and those that will have a manifold leak. When I had my M211 (1995-1999) the exhust manifold was the bain of my ownership. That caused me more heart ache than could be imangined. Many a collector told me that "someone...

    Appels M998 hmmwv build...

I see you have plenty of lubricant for the job... Have you given thought to a pneumatic rivet gun? I think if I had that much body work to do I would have to invest in one.

Yes WMO Waist (used) motor oil. Not to be convused with a MWO which is Modification Work Order. That is a purrdy motor you got there. Looks like it should hook up 1.2.3. with out to much issues.

    When was camo cover introduced

The FM called for painting of the canvas top and cargo cover to match the truck cammo pattern but the practice was rearly if ever done. In the world of duces the vinyl cargo cover didn't come into play until the early 90s and the 3 color cammo pattern cargo cover didn't come into use until...

    Chevy G7105 1.5-Ton Panel (K51) or G7116

Ok I did a search on the old WWW and I found one little bit of info on the interior of the K-51. Not much to go on, but it gives you a little idea. If you have past issues of Army Motors I know they showed the inside of one that was restorded by an Italian collector, but for the life of me I...

    My GMC, a little update

The 6.2 does not really like to run on WMO. It wan'ts good clean diesel fuel and the cleaner the better. I would make sure that you filter it very well and IMHO I would cut it with some regular diesel fuel to help it flow better.

Replace all your GMC weather stripping

It's weather stripping for doors and windows. It's made for houses so I wonder how well it will work in an automotive environment.

    PAINT SUPPLIERS

I know that shipping the Gillispie paint can get down right stupid, but even at the cost of commercial paint and the additional flatner that has to be added I think the Gilispie thin and shoot paint is worth it. Plus it holds up very well and doesn't seem to have a fading problem.

    Brake problem??

The stock brakes on the GMCs are wonderful when they work right. With the air pack working and all the brakes adjusted properly you can stop on a dime and give 8 cents change. Ok maybe more like a quarter and give 20 cents back, but I have owned and worked on both an M211 and a M35A2 and I...

    Can your HMMWV do this?

My question is can the newer HMMWV do that since they bumped the front of the grill out?

    Thinking about purchasing an M998

Rule #1 of HMV ownership: You will spend more time under it turning a wrench than you will driving it! Rule #2 of HMV ownership: Rain water will find your right foot and soak it when driving during a rain storm. Rule #3 of HMV ownership: If will fail to start just when you need it the...
