My invoice has "lot ####" and about a 1/2 inch below it another #
The other # is not indentified as DTID on the invoice, it doesn't have miles, pics of speedo and so forth.
The DTID # on the trucks is on a sticker, one that is easily peeled and restuck.
I did not personally preview the M36 in...
The GL terms clearly state that the info online is not guaranteed, The legal advise I got after the preview was clear, auctions go by lot #, the lots are tagged by the auction service, you inspect the labeled lot, you bid on that lot#, you are legally entitled to that lot#.
I did just that, and...
The Michigan Museum of Military Transport Foundation Inc. will have a display set up in Downtown Grayling during the Ausable River Festival this Saturday
This is a great event for the whole family as there is an arts & crafts show, and other historic attractions happening at the same time...
Had the M36A2 out this afternoon, fortunately I was in a parking lot slowing to park it, hit the brake pedal and had a mili-second of stopping power & bam! pedal to the floor.
The parking brake wasn't real happy about being deployed while moving either.
It did the job this time, but I...
This is the front wall of a raised / hardened cargo cover.
the truck in the background 2nd pic.
Anyway I think my truck has been busy since it's 1/90 rebuild.
Well if someone applies for their SF-97 prior to picking up the truck they have clearly violated the terms of the contract & it is not like anyone ever got a SF-97 in less than 2 weeks from auction end (including a holiday). So I don't see it as an issue.
Back to the topic that started this...
I included the trucks DTID # on the line for comments on the SF-97 app.
Joe noted the DTID #'s of the trucks I took. I expect there will be issues, but this auction screw up is known about at GL offices in New York, Florida and Arizona and likely a few others.
I know I could get them titled...
the 70 starts with 0525 and has contract # DAAE 06 70-C-0001
and the 71 starts with 0539, no contract # on data plate
neither have a mfg listed like my 73 Am General does
I know this has been covered before.
I have a self imposed time limit of 1 hour with the SS search function and have exceded that limit.
even a google search has not nailed this question down for me.
I have a 70 & 71, & need to get the SF97 paperwork done.
Would these be "General Products...
They do need to go by the DTID# assigned by the DOD. (# on little yellow sticker)
They also are bound by the terms & conditions just as the bidder is.
The lots are listed by lot #, the trucks are identified by GL with a lot #.
Auctions are conducted by lot #'s.Those who were there and did a...
Just rec'd word of Bill's convoy (about 1/2 of his trucks) heading South on I-75 towards home.
The other half are parked at an undisclosed semi secure location.
If all goes well they will get home b-4 dark.
To everyone who was there, sure wish we all had more time with out all the "which truck...
I got out of there with what I previewed & bid on The lot# on the truck.
As expected many were upset, I kept my cool and pointed out that there was no legal basis for the # on the yellow sticker, per the GL contract & terms. Waited a couple hours (it seemed) for GL to make up their mind.
& I...
Lot's of useful info can be found by searching for it.
a billion threads covering the same dang question makes getting useful info with the search function more difficult.
Most times you'll get your answer quicker by searching or reading the FAQ's or even the data plate on the truck.
The GVWR...
Since it is a long bed duece, I trust you meant , 'compared to the std bed deuce'
17' 4" with 2 section passenger side drop.
add a winch and these things are over 28' long
here's mine
I looked at that truck during the preview, I didn't preview it, just checked it out on the way by.
I'd say it is about a foot taller than a std cargo cover, which would put it well over 10'
I'm thinking that breaking the box down will be easier than pulling 8 wheels off.
I sold the rounded section from above the cab to the rear compartment to an SS member in Tampa, Florida. (GrimTrucker)
His recovery / transport plan fell apart.
picture is of inside
approx size 42 inch x 79 x 24
not heavy just flimsy & bulky.
