    M151 re-gear / swap

Upon more thought. 1st Gear in the M151 is a real granny gear. You might find that the gear ratio in stock configuration is more than you'll need. Just to give you an idea I can take my 151 and put in first gear and at idle let the clutch out and it will just crawl along. It's great for...

    Gauge Wire Post Difference

Tim, Its been a while since I played with gauges, but isn't one of the connectors ribbed and one isn't so that PVT snuffy doesn't goof them up when installing them? If not then it may not make a difference which way they install.

Now I Don't Know if my Cab is even a Gasser Cab.

RE: Now I Don That indent in the firewall is probably ment to clear the diesel motor that wasn't needed for the gasser. Unless you are worried about the been counting restores nobody and I mean nobody is going to notice it.

    Gasser Cab Install

Looking very good Tim. The "battle scares" just add personallity to the truck.

    More Early Body Differences

Probably saved the contractors and the gubment a few greenbacks after they made that mod. Probably some production time too.

    Electical Connections

Tim stick with the Packard connectors. Your truck is going to live out side and be used for more than the occasional parad. The problem with duglas connectors is the metal shells end up rusting together and then that rust works it way into the wires. If you were going to restore the truck to...

Good News/Bad News from the radiator shop

Seeing that the mounting and the size of the radiator is basically the same between the gasser and the multi, after all they didn't change the front sheet metal, I would think you could get a core out of a multi and make it fit the gasser no?

Finally Won My Deuce...and a trailer!!!!

The cage might be from a maintence or supply unit. Service company maybe? They put the caging in the truck and also raise the height of the cargo cover which requires the cover to have a extra pannel of canvas sewn in. Then they fill the truck with maintence parts, tools etc. Then off to the...

    Gasser Cab Removal

Tim, I thought the new cab could be lifted by your roof winch? I thought the issue of putting the new cab on was a non issue. Or are you planning on bolting everything to the new cab prior to putting it back in the truck? I would think it would be better in the long run to leave it bare and...

M880 318: To sell or not to sell....

Here I thought you were going to sell the truck and I was going to say sell it to me. You are right on the value thing, but 50 years from now they will be very valible because they will be an odd ball truck. Much like GTB Fords are from WWII. If your brother in law needs the motor sell it to...

    Cargo cover and seat recovering

There are several canvas companies that make replacement seat covers, cab tops and cargo covers. Off the top of my head you've got Beachwood Canvas, Weebee Webbing, New Life Resorces. All three have gotten great reviews on different websites. Not sure on pricing between them...shop and compair.

Design Change between 1952 and 1953?

Re: RE: Design Change between 1952 and 1953? No Gimp I don't think so...Tim's question has not been answered. To me it seems that by the first pic with the two wrenches on the holes that the builders/designers felt they needed the extra mounting, but maybe to speed production up or to cut cost...

    Push button light switch

The push button switch is just a modern replacement for the three lever switch....which is 50 year old technology.
