Could one find 17" rims to go on the truck? To me it makes sense to just go a 1/2 inch taller if that gives more tire options and better safety.

RE: M151 I agree with tbanks the g838.org group is a good group. It is a M151A1 and sorry to say this, but it looks like it might have been cut. Looking at the pics it seems that there might be a reweld spot. I like the electric light switches on the dash...lol. It is rough, but with time...

Good job on the arrows Dave. Tim, you could have used MS Paint to put the arrows on....but I think we've gotten the answer now. You really need to invest in a media blaster to clean up these old MV parts.

The M34 and the M135 both had the bed with the raised fenders. The trucks also had single 1100X20 tires instead of the dual 900X20s.

Tim, I'm sorry I can't see what your talking about. How about a couple of arrows to point out the difference? You parts truck hook looks like it might have been in better shape than the replacement one.

In planning your trip figure a road speed of about 45 mph and also take into account hills. The old girls don't run up hills to well. So if the place is in a mountain area (seems like most military posts are) that may add some time to your trip also. 540+ miles trip you might give thought to...

Yep that's not a turn signal lever that is an air brake handle for the trailer. As soon as I saw that with out going to the rest of the pics I said he has a tracktor...then I saw the frame and it confirmed it. Please keep us posted with your restoration I'd love to see a Gasser 5th wheeler!

About the only marking you may find for a unit on them would be a diamond with a unit number like a <3> for 3rd Marine Division.

I was wondering that myself? I would think one would want a M101 to go behind a M880 and not a M105 which is for the M35.
