Nice looking truck. To bad your held up at DRMO in Columbus. Most likely a National Guard truck since that is about all who turns stuff in there.
Keep us posted.
It looks like you have the cab down to just metal, glass, plastic, wire etc have all been removed. Fix the rust and then media blast. Or if you want to spend the money get it tanked. That will not only take the rust off the surface, but will get into the channels etc. But be prepared to fix...
Sounds like you got clanked in the head on that one Ace...and by your post I'd think I'm right.....bwahahahahaha.
Ask questions duce m35a2 that's what groups like this are for.
Yep it's to ugly for the storage lot. I had that problem with an M211 I had the storage people didn't want that old junk army truck...but they would let the rusted hasn't moved in 20 years camper there just fine...go figure.
Get some brake cleaner and clean your shoes off really good and you...
RE: Duece Top
Kinda missed what he wrote there huh ace? I believe if I'm reading correctly that he said hardtop.
Don't know if you could make that fit.
POR-15 is a good product that will allow you to seal up the metal and keep the rust in check. If you can get the cab down to bare metal prior to painting would be better than using the POR-15 on top of it.
Keep us posted on your work and how it comes out.
RE: canvas
I when I went to sell my M211 I took the bows troop seat canvas etc which I had gotten off an M35 and transfered them to my new M35. So yeah they are the same.
Its the cab top that is a different animal.
Almost every post I've read about US6X6 has been a combinations of poor customer service and poor quality products. I remember when one guy was getting ready for some truck challange thing and the parts he got had to be remanufactured in order to make them work. I have yet to read one positive...
RE: Radios
It depends on what era you are outfitting your M37 for. If it is Korea and shortly there after the Rt-68 and PP-112 set up would be correct. If it is Veitnam (remember the 3.4 dodge was a work horse in Nam) then the VRC-12 (Prc-25 with mobile amplifire/power supply) or VRC-24...
You need to find out why you had no brake fluid.....I think that is the bigger problem than which fluid you have. I'm thinking you might have a small leak and over time and use you've bled the system dry. Time to take a good look at your brakes and fix any problems.
Then once you've got...
Don't mind him Doc his screen name should be Grumpyrobb....:)
Anyway provided the do not have trees growing up through them I would say off the top of my head somewhere between $500-$1000 for the pair. If they were complete trucks with beds etc then they would be worth more.
RE: Re: RE: silicone brake fluid
IMHO If you are doing a break job now unless you have to have silicone I would just stick with the DOT3. Your not going to be doing deep water fording and you may do some puddles at that's about it. The cost for the DOT 5 will not out way the DOT3.
The air...
