Sounds good Jon. In my case the relay would energize when I would flip switch off it would not de-energize draining the batteries. Bought new relay from golf cart shop works great. Sad thing was all four batteries were trashed. Bought 2 new ones and now running it on 2 batteries instead of...
Yeah Jon mine had JUMP written all over it. They jumped it in the yard and off she went. All of my gauges worked though and I showed a charge but as soon as I shut it off she was dead. Replaced 2 batteries and still had problems. Found it to be the lower relay in the PCB. I know that the...
Yes I live across the river from Jefferson City. I've picked up my Deuce and 923 both from JC. My aunt used to live in Defiance. Was you truck batteries dead when you got your truck?
I had problems with mine when I picked up the truck. I opened it up and mine contained 2-24vdc relays. One was for the power switch and one was for the starter relay. I will try and post pic of mine. Where in St. Louis do you live?
Ghost00TJ you are bringing back old memories. First vehicle was a '73 CJ5 with a 304 and 3 spd, rag top and the passenger seat was an option. Lots of fun. I live up around Jefferson City, MO and my dad has some property in Cuba, MO. Bought a Deuce a couple of years ago and a 923A1 this...
They're Optima I think they class them as an AGM battery. For the price I think that they're better batteries out there. Tebbetts is about 6 miles East of Jefferson City.
I just got a 84 923A1 and the new batteries were trashed. I found that it was the control box. I opened mine up and it contained 2 relays with a capacitor and diode on each. I replaced the lower relay that runs off the battery switch with one for a golf cart. Been 2 months all is well. The...
Same here. Got the Deuce and a 923 so don't want to drive to far. But I haven't had any luck in the area. Stl Louis has a couple of parades. K.C. not sure of.
Magnum not to change subject but where in Fulton do you live. We're just down the road in Tebbetts, Holts Summit and yes if you hear of any rallies I would love to know.

Thanks so much Carnac!!!
Carlo we share the same problems. Wife loves me but not sure why I buy them. The neighbors wonder what I'm up too and I love to keep them guessing. I'm sure everyone on this site shares the same problem. My 923 needed to be jumped when I bought it. I bought it home and batteries where shot...
Carlo sorry that did not work for you. It's easier to check the filters first then move to the lines. The Cummins are bad about fuel line leaks. Mine was rebuilt in 2010 and the motor had 14 hours on it. I've had to do alot of work to get it running (electrical). But everytime I go to the...
You also have very nice vehicles. I'm in the same spot these trucks are a hobby and expensive to operate. Shop prices are almost out of the question. So we do what we can with the money and skills that we have. And love every minute of it.
I just bought a M923A1 about 5 months ago. I really love them both. Like you still learning about both vehicles. This site is an excellent resource and the folks here are a great help. Thanks my friend and keep me posted.
