So to cover this quote part first, they do not have CTIS. Govplanet is incorrectly listing these. I have kindly sent them a letter letting them know they are going to eat a few ironclad guarantees if they don't fix it, but they keep listing them incorrectly. It is just a CTIS ready wheel. I got...
You have a beautiful combo there. I just love the M1082s. I like the fact that I now have a full size cargo truck (though not quite as large as the 5-ton unit, but still longer than my dump bed) being towed behind my dump truck. It is the best of both worlds. Now you in essence have two...
Thank you 603hellmutt. I found one on ebay for $14 shipped and got it on today. Now I gotta move the truck as it is parked under an 80' black locust tree and the wind has started whipping. I'd hate to see it or the 1082 get damaged.
Heck, I didn't know trucks had a/c until I joined this site. I have even heard that some have power windows too! Never had it this far in my life so no need changing it up now. Heat is better than cold to me. Never got heat-bite on the fingers yet.
I would take Tobys' advice and just take a line from the lift pump to a full fuel can and see if you can pump it up with the hand primer and if you hear the fuel making it's round through the system, fire the ignition. I, myself, wouldn't worry about the return as it is going in your "clean"...
My ex's father showed me a good trick to remove those rivets in minutes. Take the infamous angle grinder with the cutoff wheel and cut the rivet head in half (coming straight into it vertically) and then turn the grinder on a 90° angle cutting each half of a rivet head in half again. Now the...
What is your "A2"? Dual tanks? Have you tried compressed air into the tank and check the lines for seepage? That would indicate where it is sucking up air, if that is the cause. That filter under the fender is known for the bad gasket or it being misaligned.
I finally remembered to change my turn signal flasher. The one on it blinked so fast with the trailer attached that anyone behind me couldn't tell they were blinking if I had the brake on. I just switched with a civy truck I won't be using anymore. Was fine with no trailer.
The photo is the...
I had heard years back (from a source I cannot remember) that one should never reuse the u-bolts. I just cut them off with a cut-off wheel on the angle grinder. I jump every time each one pops, as it startles me even though I know it's coming. I have rebuilt or added to a few spring packs and I...
You are in the heart of Ohio's Amish Country. A lot of stuff to see and a lot of cheese just minutes away at Sugarcreek. Everything is closed on Sunday's though. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Be safe!
Check background pics at Chambersburg, PA. I was just there last week and was walking toward a skeleton of one but before I could look around much I was ordered to return to my truck. Not by Jay but by his help. I guess the fellow thought I might slip a 6.2 in my pocket.
Got it home Wednesday evening before dark. The drive back through the Laurel Highlands with the extra weight was not exactly a drive in the park. It did same me a lot of money on a delivery. I was quoted $1000 dollars but used 75 gallons of diesel fuel and a $60 stay, plus two days of my time...
Didn't, but do now. Thanks. I am surprised the civilians only took five of them! They apparently weren't too awful angry.
I see it says Dutch area. That is clearly visible in other outlying towns.
Well, I drove mine to Chambersburg, PA today to pick up another M1082 trailer for rough work so as to not worry about keeping it all prettied up, like my other one. Only issue on the 184 mile treck was my speedometer cable backed out by the transfer case (fixed), and something came out of the...
Thanks. I will be looking forward to the pics. I have been a bit lazy on this as I had a remedy for both symptoms but it would be best to fix it so it works properly.
I should add that my fan engages when I first start the truck below 20°F and will not disengage until it has warmed up some and I shut the truck off and drain the air. Then it works normal, I think. When it's that cold it wouldn't engage anyway. Does anyone else that has the rattle at idle have...
