In doing my brakes the other day, I was shocked they also went light duty on the front brake's dust/stone shield behind the rotors. Any 3/4 ton I had of square body civy units had the heavy steel ones. Then I get a 1 1/4 ton built for our military and they are tin.
Had the infamous metal to metal brake grind on my way to mow a couple places the other day. Funny thing is that I just told someone that I need to check the brakes on it and my VW soon before cold weather strikes. Missed it by that much (Adam Smart 1" finger gap)! Got the rotor turned for $15...
Ok. Was at location where my older M1082 trailer is and remembered to take pics, even though it was dark. This is the setup made for the ladder that has no way to use for ramps. The last picture of the bottom of the ladder shows it doesn't touch the ground making it nice to move around the yard...
Not saying I was one of them. Especially in the example you used! Heck, I gotta be patient enough in the humvee realm to save up the cash to buy one before I even get to start dealing with the GP/government drama!
Wasn't there someone earlier in this thread saying how they do indeed export the humvees. I know that, to me, exporting them defeats the purpose of the EUC and it upsets me that we have to go through the EUC drama for nothing if they do allow some buyers to export them.
If the ctis is the same as the m939 series, you can hit run flat button and it will air up your low tires. As for the deflation, well I am not in the know.
All the bayonets too. Also, gotta remember they are government jobs which overly spoil their (our) employees. That means one whole heck of a lot of freebie days off.
I can feel your dedication and I also understand that the original poster is from MA and, heck, I would like some confirmation before driving 1000 miles to see it in person too.
To follow up and not leave the thread dangling, I went through GP and just paid for a title. I had to use a special form to fill out and send to them with any identifying info I could find on the trailer designating it's year and make. I put the rework company as the manufacturer and used the...
As for the ramps, I think fabbing them up would be different depending on which version of the M1082 you have. There are two different types of boarding ladders on these trailers. My older one has little slots that are external for slipping the boarding ladder into, which is very convenient for...
Sorry but no extra parts here. If you come across them upper bushings at a reasonable price would you please post where (after you get yours of course). I saw a closed ebay listing where the guy was selling lots of two halves for either side at $10/pair. Now the big surplus dealers have them for...
It would be nice if mods who delete posts didn't really delete them but edit them and maybe mention it was deleted. I just spent five minutes swearing I had done lost my mind or the ss system was hacked. I get an email saying something was posted to this thread and I go over and back trying to...
