Here is a front pic of a newer, as in the 1990's, Air Force van trailer. You will notice it has a civilian and military outlet. With the M915 you could use either style plug.
The M915's are considered cargo transport trucks and used as such as opposed to combat vehicles. Clearance and running lights should not pose any problems. My equipment/military semi trailers all have running and clearance lights. Some have both civilian and military plug outlets.

Carrying fuel back there could be dangerous as pointed out while it's a good place for carrying water. This spare tire mount would provide a little bit of protection for rear mounted containers,(not really).
In the civilian market Chevrolet pickups dropped the Cheyenne interior package after 1981. The 3 interior packages for 1982 and later in the C/K pickups were the standard interior which was known as the Custom Deluxe, the next uplevel option was the Scottsdale, and the optional top of the line...

This trailer has no problems running 14.5 tires off road and fits behind the trucks mounted with 395's. Some day when I have time unaccounted for I plan to mount up some 395's for a trial run.

If you use a M105 trailer box and do not lengthen the driveshaft you will have a truck that looks like this. You need to measure to get the axle in the center of the wheel well.
