This wouldn't just be a military vehicle issue.
Apparently this would invlove all trucks over 10,000 gvw.
Should try to get help/backing from groups like the American Truck Historical Society in defeating this.
When I replaced the 6.2 with a gas engine I made sure I kept the remaining 24v system intact. I wanted the truck to still be able to perform it's military intended tasks. My starter is a 12v with the 24v solenoid. Works fine.
The build thread is here.

I agree. I have been looking for a few minutes online but I can...
I had 1100 Michelin XZL's on stock wheels with the trailer in the first pic, no problem.
Same trailer currently shown with 14.5's in second pic.
In the third pic, the trailer on the left has a little more room under it than the one on the right due to the different axle hubs.
You can fit a 5th wheel to most anything if you want to.
Link to different hitches and manufacturers.

Have you checked Sam Winer Motors in Akron? I think they had new 16.5's available when I was there picking up some parts recently.
Call them at 330-628-4881 and ask for Robert Zetzer.
When you talk to the guys at Allison, you might want to ask for the specs on an MT643 and whether it might be a good swap for your transmission. I think there are some of these available at 1-866-855-7060. Ask for Bruno.
Welcome!

Thanks again Dawn!
The cargo tie downs were already installed on the bed. Not the neatest installation, but works ok. I have a large selection of hole saws and mag drill and think I could have done the holes cleaner. If I had a set of them I would not hesitate to mount them on one of my other...
