    WA / OR non-CDL guys

Does you state have different classes of non-CDL licenses? In PA: PennDOT Driver and Vehicle Services - Classes of Licenses Non-commercial Driver's Licenses CLASS A (minimum age 18): Required to operate any combination of vehicles with a gross weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, where...

    44 G506 value

This truck has been on Craigslist. I just checked the link and it has been removed. Bed is a plus, but better look at the engine and cab.. 'original' means vastly different things to different people. There is another G506 listed for $5500 in Mesa.. no pics though.

    g-506/g508 wheels.

Tires//tubes/flaps are about $250 per rim. If your tube and flap is good reuse them. If you *GOTTA* have the NDTs, then you are gonna pay out the nose. CCKWs used 'regular' tread tires all the time. They are not wrong, and there are plenty of WWII pics showing 'street' tires on all trucks...

    Chevy G7105 1.5-Ton Panel (K51) or G7116

Try Frank vonRosenstiel. He advertises in the MVPA's supply line. About 5 years ago when I got parts for my CCKW he showed me a panel van in the junkyard he had. I have his contact info listed n this tread: tm9-801.com • View topic - Parts sources

Classifieds suggestion - REQUIRE vehicle titles

If you are selling non-running hulk how is that in any way the same animal as a vehicle that will be titled/registered/plated in any of the MAJORITY of states that require it? If its a parts truck, there IS a classified section called (surprisingly enough) PARTS. I asked about a deuce and...

Classifieds suggestion - REQUIRE vehicle titles

First, it would help with End User documentation. The train of custody would easier to follow (follow the titles back to the original SF97/buyer). Second, it would probably get more people into vehicles as it can be pretty daunting when you read about all the issues that people have. For the...

Classifieds suggestion - REQUIRE vehicle titles

I suggest that *ANY* vehicle offered for sale or trade on SS *MUST* have a title. A lot of people would be saved some $$$ and states that will not accept a bill of sale vehicle or have to pay penalties for not registering/titleing a vehicle within a certain date etc etc etc.

How much is a complete 12k service worth?

I don't get it.. their 'services performed' is DIRECTLY from their web site. I doubt that you are getting 'upgraded' or replacement any thing without a cost. If you are reading 'packing bearings' into 'grease chassis' then I think you are hoping for way to much. Grease chassis = going zerk...

How much is a complete 12k service worth?

None of the 'services' I have seen are more than look overs, fluid top offs and filters. Some don't even go that far. There is no real way to inspect a seal. Its either leaking or not. A common seal failure is wearing the shaft of what its supposed to seal. I have fixed a few yokes that...

How much is a complete 12k service worth?

A a person looking for a good truck, and knowing what they sell for off GL I would say this: The going over should be free. With the right tools its not a big deal (I own a CCKW and am familiar with big nuts and bolts). Time wise I don't think any guy selling a GL truck is worth $20-$85 per...

    45 CCKW 353 B2 ,Searching parts....

I just bought a 6v/40A Neg Ground genny from 'Zorkos' in Home, PA (google him). Brand new rebuild. He listed 10, I bought 1, so there should be 9 left. Good luck on a water temp gauge... Most of the parts you are looking for are easily found on e-bay (search CCKW). I also have a list of...

Gmc cckw 353 2 1/2 ton cargo body

You have given up because you have nothing to contribute. I CLEARLY stated that I understood 'pull' to mean 'carry' and provided the clarification and the official documentation for it. If you have to hang your hopes on such an innocuous misunderstanding then its obvious that you have...

Gmc cckw 353 2 1/2 ton cargo body

The M35 has a multifuel engine.. so what, it has the same cargo capacity as a CCKW. The type of fuel is obvious, as I stated the CCKW is a gas engine. The M35 can tow much more (3x) than a CCKW, there were electric braked trailers and a controller for the CCKW. A 352 was an artillery prime...

Gmc cckw 353 2 1/2 ton cargo body

Well, if you want to learn about the CCKW then ask questions. I do not know it all, I never said that I did. Maybe I am a quick learner, maybe I have more free time/money to research, maybe my OCD for CCKW trivia is more of a curse than a blessing but if you read the posts they are hard facts...

Gmc cckw 353 2 1/2 ton cargo body

I have no idea what you said after the first dozen words... PARAGRAPHS USE THEM :) I never said that they are THE SAME, I said they are comparable. The diesel engine is a great asset... but not required to get the job done. If your little snow story is what makes you think that the M35 is...

Gmc cckw 353 2 1/2 ton cargo body

All in all the CCKW and M35/M135/M211 are very similar trucks. The size, load and speeds are all withing a few % of each other. A CCKW can definitely go faster than 45MPH and haul more than 5,000lbs. The technology on the CCKW is no more 'ancient' or outdated that that used on an M35...

Gmc cckw 353 2 1/2 ton cargo body

Call Kevin Krunland in WI and ask him I saw it with my own eyes and posted the reference. The M35 is the same way... 2.5 tons is the spec for OFF ROAD, but can do 5 ton on an hard surfaced road. Sorry if I have information that you may not know about.... but facts is facts. And this is the...

Gmc cckw 353 2 1/2 ton cargo body

The CCKW is rated by the manufacturer for 5,000. Now there is a catch. The Specifications of the CCKW are for OFF ROAD/Cross Country. The War Dept in 1944 increased the allowable payload on HARD SURFACED road to a max payload is 10,000. You will also need to increase tire pressure 1 PSI for...

    Cost of "NEW" WWII "Jeep"

Between MD Juan and OMIX ADA you are almost at a jeep. Some parts are no longer produced (engines, axles etc) but there still is a good supply of cores. It would be expensive, but even casting parts is not unrealistic. I think most of the jeep drawings are out there... and if the MVPA ever...

Need info on ww2 gen set

Not to be a smart a$$ but you already ID'd it. its a PE 108E Generator. What else do you need to know? The data plate should have name, DoD, manufacture, some wight and power outputs. What *specifically* are you trying to id? You got the basics... name, outputs, rating. The TM seems...
