I agree with Ken.
That said, I lengthened my driveshaft 5.75" and am extremely happy with the way it turned out. I wanted the 9' bed length and the axle in the middle of the wheelwell, with the bed as far forward without cutting the bed.
Due to your "misdirection", the museum and yourself likely lost some revenue in this transaction for yourselves by preventing any competitive bidding on the tank.

I have bought used 395's from Sam Winer in Ohio and C and C Equipment in Indiana. You can get 6 on a skid when they band them down with steel. Both places cost me $150 a tire +shipping. I bought new 395's from Sam Winer's also...
I'd guess the running gear under #2 was an M200 trailer.
Pic #5 was a communications shack off of Unimog and I believe it's on a M105 chassis.
