There is plenty of excellent information in this thread.
When I bought my M342A2 I intended to use and enjoy it as much as possible. I sometimes carry a lot of weight on my truck. After a few days here and there of hauling dirt, gravel, and such I was longing for the power steering of my IH...
The swap of a 5.9 into a CUCV has been discussed before. GM allowed you to order 4 and 6 cylinder Cummins from the dealer in the middle 80's.

All good info from badgmc56!
My tipper came with the manifold heater and an electric water heater. Last winter I used neither as it started great everytime. Still, it's nice knowing they are there if I need it.
Nice work acesneights1.
The CUCV does present a challenge when you want to keep the original goodies up front.

Let's see, so many ?'s to answer.
I read about some items for sale on this site, not in the classifieds. No time to think about it. Went the next day.
Not my neighborhood. I left at 0500 and returned home at 1300hrs from the yard sale,(380 miles round trip).
I went...
I was looking for some parts and a fellow at Mosquito Four Wheel Drive mentioned to me that he had some M135 axles for sale. In case you want to enlarge your marketplace area their number is 330-889-9693
Cabovers, hmm?
A gentleman on this site has done a great job with the truck in the first pic.
I think the second truck was on a site for sale a while back, don't remember for sure.
Yesterday was a good day. I scored big on a yard sale of military truck parts. Then in the afternoon I got a lot of dirt moved working into darkness. It did start to rain on my parade towards the end of the day.
I hear he is going to change things on it this winter from his neighbor. He has not been around when I have stopped and I don't know his name or number.
