    700r4 or 400

Your tire diameter likely gives you all the overdrive you need so the 4th gear is not needed. You can throw all the money you have at a 700 and it still will not be as strong as a built 400. If you need one, I have three 400 sb's in the garage.

    looking for a GOER

Sam Winer has some. Update! I called and Winers's has at least 4 that are about 85% or more complete,(missing winches and some small items). They have some spare parts from some that were recycled. They are asking about $9500 but sounded a bit like Monty Hall on the price.

    Differential Gears In 1986 M1028A2/A3

So, where you been reading that stuff? GM didn't offer 4.88's in the civilian squarebody K30 dually pickups, ever,(3.73, 4.10, and 4.56). Never heard of one in a CUCV either from factory. The 4.88 gears could be bought aftermarket for those that wanted them.

    Drawbacks of HEMTT rims?

How much does a HEMTT wheel, no tire, just the wheel weigh? Somewhere been said about 160 lbs. Inquiring minds want to know!
