I bought my PTO from CSI for $525. I believe Clark Truck parts have them for $450. All the PTOs are the same for the 939 series trucks. I will take a picture of the data tonight and post it on this thread.
It does, it only narrows the problem down to about 100 different things. No seriously, it does help. If going by it I just need to check one or two components and it eliminates the problem to about 4 different areas.
I guess while posing a question in post# 17 made it sound like I lacked the knowledge of current military transportation equipment as well as the search engine google.
Let me rephrase the question.
Why can you not use a HEMTT to pull a tank? Is a MK48 not a modified HEMTT or have the same...
Marines only use the LVS tractor version with the lowboy to move M1 tanks around. We as Marines do not have an HET as far as I know. Is this not the same thing as a HEMTT?
I failed to mention that from a collectors point or view (or someone that does not have Uncle Sam's budget like me) I believe the A1 version of this truck is the way to go. For a cool factor and awesome motor with power and get up and go, this truck beats the 800s and early 900s hands down.
Did a lot of work on the truck this weekend.
I had to bite the bullet and buy from CSI which ended up having reasonable prices.
I added the missing low air switch, replace the broken hood clamp, clean-out the cab, added the fitting for the clogged fitler piping, fixed the window regulator...
On a serious note. Please destroy or render the truck inoperable so enemy combatants can not come along and use the truck later on. Cut wires, put sand in valve cover, flatten tires, put hole in oil pan, put holes in radiator, whatever it takes. Please do this at least.
Not to mention all the potential damage they are doing to the trucks by moving them around and on and off loading them. We all know how careful they are at those sites. They treat all the trucks as if they were their own. Ya, right!
For those of us looking for NEW shift modulators, shifter cables, special u-bolts and clamp, and any other related Allison Tranny parts. This guy has it all and great to deal with.
