    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

The brakes on the FLU are air assist hydraulic. So without air, the brakes will work, poorly. Also, in normal driving, shifting will not be affected. The splitter is pneumatic, but used rarely.

There are typos in the manual. The torque value for the nut holding the gear to the injector pump is one. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a spelling error as well.

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

I sell a premade Stainless steel cross air line for $150shipped. I got them custom made by a local supplier. I have 3 left and do not plan on making more.

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

Expedition Imports has invested heavily in parts and should be your go-to for FLU specific parts. The FLU frame, transmission, hydraulic system are similar but different than the common 406 parts, so some overseas parts may not work for you or may require modification. The backhoe is similar to...

FLU419 road driving legal concerns and challenges?

Registered as an Antique in PA and commercial insurance(liability only) is only $400/year. I have a CDL anyway. Not a fan of the SMV route. It limits your legal top speed and cars that see the SMV assume they must pass you.

Using my SEE for real work

I bought a new house and shop and have been using the FLU to unload things from the trailer. Adding forks to the loader bucket is mediocre at best. The bucket blocks the view and the suspension rocking when releasing the clutch really limits precision. The self leveling feature of the bucket...

Using my SEE for real work

1/2” hose is 78% more diameter than 3/8”. Quickly checking a flow nomograph, velocity would increase from ~10 to ~17, which is on the upper end for pressure lines and unacceptable for return. Would the tool work? Yeah, probably. But higher flow velocity is more heat, more pressure drop.

Using my SEE for real work

In my case, it was the whips on the Tools. The hose reel is doing fine. Most quality shops around here will refuse to re-crimp ends on used hoses anyway.

Using my SEE for real work

All of my hoses have sprung leaks as well. Kinda dangerous so close to the user. Hydraulic fluid injection is no joke. These are probably a good preventative maintenance replacement.

As previously said, CARC is the paint. Yours was painted when it was overhauled. Very common for them to be Handstamped.

Ok, I checked tonight. The vent line above the timing gear goes over the engine, over the alternator to a fitting on the PS reservoir. So the PS reservoir is vented through the engine. The 4 wire connector is not hooked to anything on my FLU.

That looks like the connector to the pressure sensor over the fuel filters. It is not needed, and the wires connect to the test port in the center console. I don’t recall where the vent line from the timing gear case goes and I’m not sure when I will have time to check. Perhaps someone else on...

There is a vent line that comes out of the timing gear cover.

I have the crossover tube, premade, in stainless, in the SEE accessories thread.

Ditto. I have never seen one without the grill. I believe Vons mogs had one for sale some time ago for the conventional 406. Now the hood is another matter. Many without the hood.

    SEE/FLU419 accessories

I just got in 5 of the crossover air lines from the local shop made of stainless steel. I’ve tried to contact the people here that said they wanted one. Now opening it up to anyone else. $125+$25 shipping.

    406/416/419 transmission all the same?

You can sell them in good conscience, as long as you inform them that they will need some extras pieces for the conversion.

    406/416/419 transmission all the same?

As I understand it, but I am not an expert, the transmission will fit in a 406/416. The problem is the 419 uses air to shift it and engage 4wd while the old 8& 20 speeds do not. Hence getting the shifters and air system can make a cheap 419 transmission an expensive proposition in a 406/416. If...
