Yeah, well I made a costly mistake today that makes me question my intelligence. Had the radiator mocked up in front of the engine and a friend showed up. Tried to show him that it runs now and wasn't thinking. Destroyed my brand new radiator and my fan. Super pissed at myself. And my beer...
Yes, but it may not show you anything. Remember the lift pump only provides 4-7 psi, but when running the components in question are seeing 30+ psi. You can't run it with these things removed. Seals may leak at 30 psi that won't at 5 psi.
My advice would be to stay off the road with those tires. They really look great and they perform well in the dirt, but they are literally a time bomb waiting to kill you.
Most tires used on these trucks are not directionally biased. NDCC, NDT, G177s are all non directional. Some of the old Michelin tires are, but they are deathtrap tires and should be avoided.
I worked with Fred at AEcom on Ft. Polk in 2016. That guy is an idiot. Won't listen to anyone about anything and he's a terrible technician. I wouldn't let him work on a lawnmower.
Yes it came out of a 1994 Ford medium duty f700 or F800 truck with an Allison behind it, but it didn't have an oil to water cooler. There was a second temperature sensor in the place you were talking about.
I'm installing an old Haldex pure air plus dryer off an M923. Should work fine since the...
Yes my truck has always been well maintained and everything has always worked properly before I've started on trips.
I've never had a failure of any kind on the road in my deuce other than a couple flats. I carry the parts as insurance. Basically, if you have the parts with you, you are...
I'll certainly post it for you all. It is stamped in the bottom of the pan in very large font.
Yes I was lucky to have the older crossmember in a frame section beside the shop. I made attempts to fabricate some kind of adapter for the later crossmember but it was awkward, imperfect, and the...
Rebuilt means nothing with military surplus vehicles and equipment. Do not be fooled into paying more because of it. I've seen many cases where rebuilt trucks were worse than untouched trucks simply because of poor workmanship. This doesn't necessarily mean that is the case with all rebuilt...
Pressure in a sealed system should always return to atmospheric when temperature reaches ambient. System has no pressure when you put the cap on, so unless volume ( either fluid or gas, i.e. combustion gas) enters the sealed system then it should return to the same pressure ( atmosphere) when it...
Never seen that as a common issue with the mechanical B series engines. Very common with common rail Cummins, which is what you posted there, but that's a whole different engine. Sintered rods, not forged.
