Ok, so I had no intention of applying a hood liner to my truck, but I'm curious what method of attachment you are going to use since most foam friendly glues don't stay fast in a perpetually hot environment.
I used permatex sprayable trim adhesive on my firewall but I'm expecting it to start...
Yes, the Eaton TO-11605A is available with an SAE3 bellhousing which would bolt to the multifuel adapter ring, however the only ones I've seen are much longer than the Spicer bellhousing, which may place the transmission significantly farther rearward. I have not looked into all applicable...
No, you are thinking of the speedometer adapter vs. tachometer drive. All the cable driven M series tachometer drives must rotate the same direction regardless of the engine application since they all utilize the same tachometer.
I will be reusing the existing tachometer. The tachometer drive assembly from the 8.3L Cummins in the 939A2 series truck will install directly onto the 5.9L in the same fashion. I will need a shorter cable though I think.
More progress pictures for you guys. Cooling stack is complete now. Gauge cluster restored. Air dryer mounted and plumbed, air tanks redone. Oh, and my shop mascot/ evening beer drinking compadre.
Some pictures of progress from the last couple days. These may be spoilers for any of you who are subscribed to my YouTube channel. Still have to make the upper brackets and slot the hole on the lower driver side mount pad. The intercooler isn't sitting square to the radiator and it placed the...
More done. Intercooler fitted but not mounted. Would be great to get some feedback here.
I'm mounting the intercooler to the radiator bracket. The radiator bracket is already insulated from vibration by a 3/4" rubber pad and the original radiator mount springs. Conflicted on hard mounting or...
The cheap one is single circuit, and I've never seen a dual circuit master for as low as $170. Usually that is the high end of single circuit masters.
Usually dual circuit masters are $350 and up and difficult to find at all.
Having trouble figuring out what to do with the air intake. Was going to use the filter housing from an M54, but I need to shorten it by 6-8" for this application and then it'll only fit an M35 air filter, which defeats the whole purpose. The box will flow more but the filter still doesn't.
It...
If I remember right, the Spicer's rated input torque is right at 400 or 450lb/ ft. It is built way heavier than an NV4500, but it is also in a much heavier truck. I feel like the Waterloo upgrade coupled with the 1308SL input and output bearing upgrades strengthens it beyond the original rating...
