What date codes are on your Humvee tires?

Bought with 1803, 4805, 0410 and 0909 and 03 is looking a little dry rot. Thanks for doing the survey, it made me look at my tires a little closer.

Where do you draw the line $$$

Weather guessers were wrong and a fine day was had in Northern Virginia (No rain). Finished with the reinstall! Yes I took the pic then realized I hadn't fixed the free spool handle (pic is wrong but the truck is right). Winch works fine but have not tried under a load yet. All in about $900...

Where do you draw the line $$$

Oops Should look like this Also have to fix the free spool handle. Had to cut the mount to get the winch to fit, and got in a rush to get the winch in place and forgot how the handle pointed till after all the bolts were tightened. I had pictures as a reference, just didn't use the...

Where do you draw the line $$$

So it was 67 degrees in NOVA today and I got to work on the winch some more. Its fully assembled and when it went back in it DID NOT fit. New electric motor has different electrical connection locations and there was an interfacing issue

    Water pump replacement

FYI make sure to torque the bolts, else you'll get to do that job again. I used 35 lbs/ft and all went well (not so true with 25 that I used first time around).

Rookie here! Purchased a Hmmwv Jan 2, 2020

Nice looking Rig!!! I have installed a backup camera but I put it on an overhead dash (B pillar to front windshield) so I can take it out if needed. I leave mine on all the time and it helps in lane changes very well. There are lots of ways to get the add-ons you want do the searches to see...

    Help with part ID

Don't count on the tags to be there. I have the MWO 20-4 (steering column bracket), 35-1 (Parking Brake upgrade), 35-2 (3 point seatbelts) completed on my '86 and only had 1 MWO Tag that was painted over. Trust but verify. Nice looking truck! Enjoy the madness.

    Help with part ID

That's the right size for the Fire Extinguisher part (nozzle holder I think) That screws to a plate that mounts to the front legs of the drivers seat. I am not sure where the blue and white light go, maybe an ambulance set up? Not sure. Is your rig a Basic or one of the A models?

    Members in Northern Virginia?

Hey Gunny, Welcome to the insanity. We are down in Va Beach visiting, but will be back in Manassas this weekend. I have a FLIR camera we can use to see if the radiator is blocked or not and check to see where the hot spots are to aide in T/S, if you're interested? Mama and I did a water...

Some issues: Decals/Stickers & Pass Though Grommet

For the stickers and plates reference TM 9-2320-280-24p-2 figure 354 and the following pages with the part numbers. If you search on the part numbers (5th column) there are a lot of vendors. I kept looking till I found an "Equipment" site that had 90% of what I wanted and just ordered from...

Very nice set up! Great job putting that together.

Where do you draw the line $$$

Well, testing proved the solenoids were shot as well. Putting 24v to motor terminals drives the motor which moved the main shaft to turn the winch in and out. New solenoid assembly was less than $200. In for a penny, why not in for more. Not sure where costing stands on this repair, I'm...

Where do you draw the line $$$

Got the 2 drum bushings and the gear housing bushing replaced and got the electric motor installed today. Hope to have it all done this weekend

Where do you draw the line $$$

Found what was stopping the free spool. Not the rust marks on the shaft that coincide with where the drum bushings sit The end with the darker band is the non clutch end of the drum the brass colored gear sits over the keys, the gear housing has a bushing and then the drum bushing was on the...
