All 5-tons: Heavy Duty Torque Rod Ends

I thought the same, but once installed, the plate is equa-distant from the torque rod side, as the other side of the torque rod side is to the axle/frame bracket. So, that completely alleviated most all of my concern, because that would mean they are hitting there also, but they don't. I could...

All 5-tons: Heavy Duty Torque Rod Ends

Yep, you're due, like the rest of them. I did have to cut the width of the offset striking wrench head itself in half in order to get it to fit. Though tool, so I had to do it on a large fulcrum & vice type cut off saw. Test fit and adjust that first so it does not hold you up when you are...

    .

Thanks. Yes, thread is miles long but full of details, part numbers, etc. My daughter was placed into a double-advanced curriculumn at school, so I’ve been doing hours of Algebra at home instead, 6 days a week, which has slowed truck progression. Just replaced all 12 dog bone ends, and next...

    I overshot neutral into Reverse

I'm always of the take that it is currently not working, so you can't make it that much worse. A dozen donuts walked into an Allison service center close to you yields way more info than you could imagine, likely including a tech that will gladly take the job for cash under the table.

    M939 LWS Shield Dimensions

Interesting, thanks. Besides being a mirror image, it seems the dimensions are slightly different. Wonder if that is something somebody made for themselves (their own design and dimensions), or if mine is way off. I was at Findlay this past weekend, and was told by a guy walking around that...

1984 AM general M923 wo/w transmission over heating

The trans cooler is huge on these trucks. My trans runs cold until the trans cooler actually heats it up, then never exceeds engine coolant temp. If you are driving around empty, I doubt it is reaching 300F. Likely just sender, gauge, or wiring/ground fault.

    M939 LWS Shield Dimensions

My writing sucks, but here is what I came up with. The bend angle and length of that bent fin are going to be off, and much longer than the 4.6” estimated. The rest may be reasonably close (?). The rectangular mounting bolt pattern seems to be about 2.33” x 5.88”, approximately. Start with a...

    M939 LWS Shield Dimensions

Thanks, take one of your kids protractors too! Also, I just copied the closer up picture into the "Paint" program under Windows Accessories. I remember that program having an X-Y coordinate display at the bottom edge for the cursor, so using the close up pic and the known cross tube diameter...

    M939 LWS Shield Dimensions

I'm going to try and have our CAD guy at work scale the dimensionals from wsu's 2-D frontal pic tomorrow, given the windshield total width as reference off my truck, if he has a pinch of free time. That should be close enough to do what I want. Angle will likely just have to be an educated...

    M939 LWS Shield Dimensions

Yep. I’m not a CAD guy, so would take me hours vs somebody else minites, who is used to working with such. Offer stands for actual measurements of real plate. Email: detroitdiesel671@hotmail.com include your PayPal address.

    M939 LWS Shield Dimensions

$40 offer for dimensionals to replicate, including bend angle.

    M939 LWS Shield Dimensions

I don't think anybody that sell or makes/sells them is going to give me dimensions. Thanks wsu. From your frontal pic, I should be able to scale it, simply using one of the windshield frames as a known reference (measure mine). I don't know the bend angle, and it will be harder to gauge the...

    M939 LWS Shield Dimensions

Don’t need blueprint level, just approximate of each flat face, the “U” cut out and position, and the bend angle. Example:

    M939 LWS Shield Dimensions

Anybody have the LWS (chicken) shield dimensions and approximate bend angle? Looking to make one vs pay $900. Thanks.

2018 Findlay Oh Armed forces day buy-sell-trade & Info

Would like to grab 2 new window regulators for M939 if anybody has available (I think same as M35?). I have one skipping a tooth in the same crank position every rotation. I will be @ Findlay Saturday only, can PM you my cell #. I’m also looking for mounting posts for 2 amber warning beacons...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Renewed all 12 torque rod end links and added retainer plates to them. Details in 5 ton mod forum.

All 5-tons: Heavy Duty Torque Rod Ends

Just saw that. Out of the 12 I pressed out, only 2 were still solid. The rest crumbled at the sight of the press. I was so thankful I did them all. 12 hour job or so. I’d be happy to loan my offset wrench for the upper-center ones, along with a split empty shell to press the old ones out...

Got a lead on turbo parts for 855 Cummins - what should I grab?

Any reason to not take and use the entire engine?

All 5-tons: Heavy Duty Torque Rod Ends

I’m thinking about offering these torque rod ends drilled and tapped, with or without plates. Any interest? Would be about same as vendor price for a stock one.
