You can replace the bad seals and o-rings with a kit that you can use to rebuild the hydroboost but as for just sticking something in there to get it to stop I say know. Were talking brakes hear. If you are short on cash get the rebuild kit and do it yourself.
You brake wheel looks very rusty. Is the outside surface rusty where the friction band rides? If so I would sand off the rust as it is supposed to be fairly smooth. Not polished but smooth.

I may not like them bringing higher prices when I am buying but I do not see any conflict of interest. I want to get my stuff cheap but if someone wants to pay more I either need to pay more or hold my tongue. As a taxpayer I want them to get the max amount of money for the stuff they sell as...
You did not use carc. You used paint made to the same color as the military specifications but the paint is not the same as carc. Even given that, Carc fades quickly in the sun light. A new part will be noticeably darker than older carc even if you use correct carc to paint the mirror.
Carc comes in about a few different types. I just did a post on this and went into it in detail before.
Single component VOC based water cure carc is reduced with synthetic enamel reducer and the directions only say that it can be reduced but does not give ratios. I use 4 or 5 to one...
When the vehicles began getting camo paint instead of the semi gloss od of the Vietnam area the national symbol (the white star) changed to a 3" black or contrasting star on the bumper in the center and on the rear of the vehicle in the center. The contrasting was usually green when the camo...
IIRC the od trans was the one used in the mack powered five tons only. I may be wrong but I had a discussion with a guy at Thunder Over Michigan about this. I think there is also another trans that can be put in with little effort that gives a very nice OD for the highway.
By the way, the Sherman Williams is actual carc and what I gave you is for water cure single component solvent based carc. There is also a two component solvent based carc with different part numbers. The newest stuff is two part water based carc. The industrial coatings catalog has all the part...
This is a link to the Sherman Williams data sheet. It includes the Sherman Williams part numbers you need to ask for. It is under the technical articles section.
I got the winch mounted last week. This week I want to mount the PTO. I checked my parts and found the lever and linkage missing. I got the lever on the way but need to find the linkage. If you have linkage available please let me know with your price. I am putting an add in classifieds also. I...
look at the fig number for the page that has your part. Write down the fig number and the number of the part in the fig. In other words Figure 3 part number 4. Then go to the cross reference. There is a section that has the NSN listed by the figure number and the part number on the page. When I...
Check for power at the glow plug terminal with a volt meter or test light. It should light while the wait light is on then they should stay on for a short time after the wait light goes off. If you are getting power to the plugs then check the individual plus by connecting a test light to...
