It does not have to be a parts truck. The vin numbers are stamped in to the frame. The person could stamp up a new data plate or just get a state issued vin on the truck. You can look at the GL website FAQ but if you are at all squeamish about dealing with GL and title issues I would get a truck...
I myself really hate posting info that I have to search to find or find stuff in the TMs for other people because they are lazy or lack the knowledge to find the stuff. I have found myself spending too much time doing it but I like helping people out with stuff. I do think it is better for us to...
The whole in the panel is way to big for the nutcert. I have them and was thinking about it but I would need to weld in a panel and put "rivet" in the new metal. Welding in a donor capture nut seems like the path of least resistance and I will not have to buy anything.
The only way to get the winch install out of the TM is to print off the individual component R and R sections and that is quite a bit of looking and printing. It is there but is hard to find as each component is treated differently and there is not one sections on putting the winch on a non-...
Bjorn,
I keep forgetting to get your pics of the genset cover. Send me a PM reminding me on Friday and again on Saturday. I tend to go outside and get tied up working and forget this stuff. I know I forgot about you this weekend.
Thanks
Chuck
True on the reading the TM but the TM does not give instructions on adding a winch to a non-winch truck. If he had asked a question about winch operation I would have hammered him on reading the TM but like I said, the -34 and -20 do not have a section on installing a winch.
Here is my thread.
First pull the front bumper to include taking off the front shackle mounts.
2. Take off the front nut on the little hand holds on the frame.
3. Remove the bottom portion of the grill. Actually two pieces.
4. I took out the whole grill for clearance.
5.install the...
I just saw your post. The thing works great. I plan to modify it a little to allow for infinite adjustment on the rotation. Right now it is working out because I can move it around in my garage while I have to do other stuff. Stripping the stuff off is my first priority. It will probably only...
Just move the positive feed for the rear strip from the terminal strip on the firewall to either the 12 volt point near the glow plug relay or to the negative on the rear battery.
With the winch installed I wanted to get started on replacing the passenger side fender on my deuce. Everything went fairly well. Only had to cut three bolts. Two were stripped and the nuts would not come off. The top two cage nuts were no problem but the one on the bottom moved a bit but locked...
My deuce must have been used to haul dirt, sand or something else heavy and fluid. My floor is just like your trailer floor. Wavy from front to back. Reminds me of the hold of a freighter that has been converted into a museum in Sault Ste Marie. I think it is called the Valley Camp. The hold...
I put the finishing touches on the winch today and finally got to test it. Everything went great. Now I need to replace the passenger side fender and paint everything. Now for the feature presentation.
